Tried Everything with my Mighty- No High

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by EdithB, May 9, 2015.

  1. Marijuana is the only thing that reduces my anxiety enough to live a normal life. I use it about three times a week. Since I am a suburban housewife, I am concerned about my neighbors being annoyed by the smell (can't smoke indoors due to kids) so I switched to a Mighty vaporizer.

I have watched every Utube video, read every review, and searched every forum to try to figure out why I can't get high from my vaporizer. I am using the grinder that came with it and grinding it to between confetti and coarse ground pepper. I have it at 240 degrees F. I have played with lower temps (nothing) and higher temps (burning taste). I clean the screen every time and fill the bowl to the top without crushing everything too much.

I get a little lightheaded when I use my Mighty but I think that's mostly due to the deep breathing. I get high easily off my pipe or bong.

    Please help!

  2. You have one of the best Vapes out there, Not sure why it is not working, I would say a defect.  My wife starts out lower and then raises the temp during each session.

My wife uses 4 different vapes (and smokes) and gets medicated/high equally well from each one.

  3. I would still go for blunts or something, kids usualy dont die from that

  4. 240 degrees f isn't hot enough to vaporize the thc from the bud. I believe thc's boiling point is around 320 degrees f but I usually start around 370-380 degrees f in my Davinci ascent to get pretty decent clouds.

Crank up the temp to a little over 320 and experiment to find the sweet spot! Best of luck

  5. Ive heard great things about the mighty. I agree that the temp sounds too low.

If u want to use something other than a vape and since you are worried about smell then you should make a sploof ( toilet paper roll filled with bounce dryer sheets) and a spoon pipe or one hitter. You can smoke outside and exhale into the sploof to mask the smell so your neighbors dont notice.

  6. try 350 degrees next

  7. Have you used any other type of vape or a table top vape because the vape high effects everyone diffeintly

  8. raise temperature......

  9. As puddleglum posted, different temps have different effects, as do strains.

I don't know a whole lot about the new herb vaporizers the kids are using these days, but I don't think bud vapor can have the strong anti-anxiety effects combustion has. Maybe try concentrates or edibles.

  10. As124112 said, I would try edibles

I got a lot of advice when I said I did not get really high from a vaporizer. Some people said to hold off smoking before using the vape and while using the vape for a bit.  The vape high can be hard to detect when smoking as the high is different.  That said, I may have this all wrong.  I have a vape, but rarely use it- vaping does not give me the high I want.  Good luck, I hope the higher temps help.

  11. 240 degrees is way to low of a temperature. You should be vaping at 360-380 for best results.

  12. Trust you're not the only mom with this issue. I know amlot of suburban moms getting tokes in before 3 o clock pick up. Who wears that much perfume that earlynin tge afternoon.

  13. maybe you have expectations of a different high. pay close attention to your mental environment before and after you vape and see if there is any difference, don't have an idea of what it should be like. You will not feel stoned

  14. Blueberry blueberry blueberry

  15. Thank you everyone who replied to my question! I guess a simple search for the evaporation temperature of THC would have solved my problem but I obviously didn't think of that.

I started my temperature based on the guide that came with the Mighty and it said to use 190 degrees to vaporize chamomile for aromatherapy. I understand that they have to say that but I figured it was code for 'start at 190 degrees.' Silly me.

I am now starting at about 320 degrees and going up from there and it is working perfectly. I can even use it in my bedroom and no smell lingers. The battery goes pretty quick at that temperature but charging it every night solves that problem.

Thank you all again! I was so afraid I'd wasted $500 on a vaporizer. You saved me!
