How long do you heat a/your quartz xl banger?

  1. So today after all week of waiting I got my order from badassglass.com which included a 14mm male adapter for a rig I won of ig a skilletools dabber and a 14mm female quartz banger..in the picture on the website it look like the banger I already own just with a bit more air constriction to which I noticed after placing my order. Needless to say I was excited/impressed to open up my mail and find that I was hand a Thick XL banger..now I'm trying to find the perfect time to wait for those terpy dabs and because I'm not use to the thickness of the banger I'm having troubles figuring out how long to hold heat on it before pulling off..so to those who have a banger like mine how long do you heat it for and wait for it to cool before you dab? my other one would be heated for maybe 20-30seconds with a 20 second cool down before I took my dab..I've tried 30 seconds on 30 seconds off way to hot and tried 20 then 30..still to hot I know within the day I'll get it where I want it but i would like a idea of how quick does it gain heat and how long...

  2. Every one is different. That's why you're having trouble comparing the two you've had. No one will have the same nail, same torch, or hold the torch at the same distance as you. You gotta figure it out on your own. If 20/30 didn't work try 20/35 then 20/40 and on and on.

  3. I'm good now the biggest issue I was having was getting it dialed in before she was really seasoned I got her down now like I figured I would and it made me curious how long others do it for hense the question

  4. Yeah, I'm learning how much of a pain it is. I just got a new quartz nail now too. I'm having fun taking dab after dab with a new nail dialing it in, but I'm wasting so much oil. And it does have the funky taste i've heard about with quartz... I've heard the nasty taste can last awhile, so this is actually good timing, does yours still taste a little funky? Mine tasted good straight off but had a weird plastic aftertaste... I guess that's what people talk about... it's still there... I've only had it a day though, so i'm not expecting anything for a week maybe.

  5. I seasoned my Quartz with 2 small dabs and it taste amazing, never get any weird taste??

  6. It was a subtle aftertaste, it's gone now.

But damn... quartz is so much smoother and tastier than Ti. My Ti nail was old and nasty, but still, I never expected that much of a difference... I wish I did this sooner. I always figured Ti had to be the way to go, but it's the other way around.

    Go quartz!!! [IMG]

  7. Dude I totally feel you. I had a ti nail and got a Quartz banger Saturday. Hit it way too hot a couple times and almost died coughing. It made me all paranoid about my oil being under purged. As opposed to a ti I prefer to really under do it on the Quartz. She holds heat way more than I thought. Use small dabs to get used to it hahaha.

Heat till red then wait 45-50 seconds to dab. Then adjust from there

  9. Yea now she's seasoned good I heat her till she's about to glow red let off wait 30 secs and do my thang..

It took me prob 4 dabs of reclaim to season mine but that taste def makes you wonder if it's yer concentrates but I knew it was the nail when it happened to me cuz I was dabbing rosin ..I keep hearing you can take clean dabs of a qcb because it's 'the highest quartz ' around idk if I belive it honestly kinda sounds like a reason to sell yer nails at such retard prices

  10. Quality american quartz is far different than cheap china quartz. I have owned both and gave away my cheap quartz after i got my banger. Would rather spend the extra 140 than dab on cheap quartz or ti

  11. I hear that alot it makes sense but I haven't been able to hit a qcb so I may not know what I'm missing out of then

Honestly, what's the difference here? Are we talking as in FDA grade quartz vs non FDA grade? How can quartz be a higher quality?
I know nothing about quartz... so don't get all pissy again, Dr.
Actual China nails (quartz ti or ceramic) are a no-go even to me, but what about those cheaper quartz nails in shops that say their FDA grade? Should FDA grade be good enough? Imported quartz probably does have legit impurities, but what impurities even are there in quartz? I always read that quartz was the way to go because while Ti can oxidize and possibly cause issues, quartz can't. Is that only true with high quality quartz? Is there toxic funk in the other quartz nails?

Because I wanted to get a bunch from my shop. I don't even know if FDA graded is even an actual thing, and if it's worth getting 2 more.

  13. ya'll are crazy wastin butane, no need to heat that long.  On my 4mm thick banger I count to 7 one thousand, maybe 10 if there's a little left over, wait for about 5 more seconds then rip it.  I'll have to measure temps with the infrared, but a 4 count on my thinner castle nail yielded almost 700 degrees.

I'm going to try that now I'll get back with how it works for me!
    ....
Just did it and yes!!! 👍 perfect I wanted to cut down the times but got lazy to do math with how much time to heat and to wait thank you

I was reading some crazy shit on instagram about this today from what I gathered the cheaper quartz nails or any quartz nail retailed under 100 bucks could very well be China quartz and they use a version of quartz cut with aluminum. .after reading about it I've decided to save my.money and go name brand fuck Alzheimer's

  15. I was under the understanding quartz was quartz, the only difference was it's density.

I really can't find very much information about it. I found one about inhaling shards, but nothing else.
Can you find anything anywhere else?

  16. @dc_glass_canada on ig has alot of great posts that speak on this also if you google 'boro book vs quave club bangers" there's a article that speaks on the whole quartz game and how China quartz(or the quartz China likes to use to get them bottom dollar prices) is a lower grade that's mixed with metal fragments hence making it a less pure product it's crazy man how much jank shit gets sold as safe shit after all my research I'm trashing this banger soon and copping a Halen trout can't go wrong for a bill it's def the cheapest high quality quartz nail on the market and Joel Halen has a great rep tho I def wanna try the new toro holygrail aswell as a qcb to see the difference between his and the $35-50 bangers. ..DC glass got good prices too but beware of boro book they been exposed

  17. I think this needs to be addressed because there is a lot of incorrect info on this thread.

We here at Borobook put out a product of the same quality if not then of greater quality then the Quartz products put out by "Brand name" top tier company's in our industry, if you've heard otherwise it's most likely from an unreliable source that is spreading misinformation.

There is a lot of incorrect information being published on the web and those publishing it usually either truly have been mislead to believe we are selling a product that is not quality or they have a hidden agenda such as they happen to sell similar or identical Quartz products at a much higher price, they try to portray our product as lesser quality in a weak attempt to boost their own sales when this is complete fiction. We are in the process of holding those publishing false info and those spreading that info accountable.

There are many reputable users across Instagram and YouTube that trust and rely on our bangers daily. Just search different hashtags with our name and bangers and you will find thousands of postings.

The Quartz used to create our bangers is completely pure Quartz silica our product is designed from the beginning to be a medical grade vapor element and this can be tested by melting down the materials and observing the way they glow. You could also heat up any of our bangers and drop them in ice water and they would be completely fine, weak or impure Quartz could not withstand this. (Quartz cut with lead or alumimum wold break under stress also it would glow when heated up when it's brand new, none of our Quartz does this.)

We have posted ice water stress tests via Instagram in the past and are happy to do some more public testing on our account this weekend.

There are crappy products made in China and America but none of our products fall in that category. If you haven't tried one we offer a money back guarantee and highly suggest you do, and We can guarantee you will not be disappointed if quality Quartz vapor elements at a great price is what your looking for.
