Greetings...I plan to start my first grow this weekend. I'll be growing indoors in a grow tent, the lighting will be powered by a 400w HPS light. I won't be able to regularly check on my grow tent but after testing for a few days, mostly, my climate is at ideal measures however it does fluctuate a bit (temperatures dropping, low humidity) from time to time. I plan on picking up a bag of Roots Organic soil, ill be using 5 gallon pots and I plan on placing the seedlings in there from the start. Do I need to stat measuring PH levels immediately? Also, I purchased a humidifier to help keep my humidity levels stable but it releases steam (cold) into the air, will that have any effects on my plants? Any advise, recommendations, and suggestions are highly appreciated. Thanks,
If you get good soil ph will be stable at 1st. Hps have good results down the road but will cause stretch during veg. Might look into MH or CFLs during veg. Humidifier should be fine i dont see it freezing out your tent but im not 100%
Hey puplish, you pop those beans yet? How many are you doing? Interested in your organic grow, as I'm just using miracle grow- moisture control with a 600w. Anyway, I'll probably be following along as I like the autos too.
Idk, just didn't have money or willpower to get something different, i see where you're coming from. I've heard very mixed results with it though, and someone I know grows reg plants with it and he grows killer weed, stuff you'd get from the dispensary. It's kinda too late now but I'll flush the hell outta it when the time comes. Next grow probably go with something organic, though my seedlings seem to be doing alright so far. I realize the plants won't reach their full potential with it, after the fact, this is just what was recommended to me by the guy who grows killer weed. Puplish's plants will probably be healthier to smoke, yes, agree'd.
Good to know for next year. Wanted to try something other than ffof next year. Im really really wanting to do a no till living soil next year with compost teas but most ingredients cant get locally and shipping is ridiculously high. EDIT-realize now ur talking about MG. Thought u were talking bout roots organic. I dont even let my tomatoes grow in MG. If memory serves if you flush out MG it causes actually MORE nutes to be released within the soil. I think the only exception is MG organic soil.
Thanks for all your input. My little project is underway, I'm planting 2 seeds, I have limited space and seeds so I didn't want to risk it all at once during my first grow. The seeds have sprouted and I got my first two leaves on one of them, I think I have an issue with the second one though, the seed sprouted and appeared to be fine, the stem kept on growing but the shell is yet to open up, its cracked a bit but not open, also the stem is purple, both seeds are of the same genetics, so I'm assuming there is some sort of deficiency there. Thoughts?
Been using the MG organic (comes in the all green bag) and claims to be good at not over or under watering. also it doesn't have any nutes in it. my 40 day old plant in it looks very bushy and good... However my 19-20 day old autos look small and are showing little pre flowers.... i was hoping to get some more veggingin in. Anyone got ideas? I think i have maybe 4 nodes.. 6 on the largest... i started light veg nutes today (using fox farm trio)
Correct the more water MG gets, the worse it gets because its a Time released nute system in the soil which is disgusting for cannabis.
as i said i think the organic mg is the only exception to that. heck of a deal. and they say MJ causes short term memory less. Boo! LOL
Hi everyone, a quick update on my grow, its been 18 days, all is going well so far, I have a few minor issues with my climate stability but nothing too major and can't be fixed. I have 2 plants, one seems to be doing great but the second one, I'm starting to lose hope with. Both plants are the same age, do you think the small plant will make a recovery? I'm planning to start feeding General Organics Go Box line tomorrow, what do you guys think, should I by the looks of the pics? Do I need to apply LST or do you guys think it will be fine? Hi Everyone...a quick update on how my first grow is going. Ive lost one plant but the second one seems to be doing great. Im finding spots on some of the leaves, just a few, should I be worried? Ill be researching it after this post. I just started feeding second week of flowering nutrients, very week, about half strength, Im using General Organics Go Box. Ay man you got that picture? Without seeing it could be anything, but here's the handy leaf chart that goes around. Nute water will fuck up your leaves too if any gets on them.. made that mistake before and srry for your loss dude
