T5 LED Replacememt

  1. What's up guys. I've been reading around about different t5 grows, as I am currently running a t5 grow (t5s all the way from start to finish with plans for a perpetual in the works using only t5s) and have stumbled across an interesting topic:

LED replacement bulbs that fit in t5 fixtures

With all the hype about LEDs in the recent years I'm wondering if this is a possible segway into LED growing for me in the future? Has anyone used them before? Or is it just be and should I just plan to save for an LED setup long term?

If you're confused as to what I'm talking about here's a link that may be able to help.

Looks like the only one that I can actually find a review for is the agroled, and again I just found this browsing so any input would be great! I love the idea of trying out some LEDs with the setup I have goin! But it seems easy... Too easy.

these replacements have been around for some time and getting cheaper too, for me I'd be making the T5 rack the best grow machine ever and stop fiddling with the cutbacks, like some govt. dept ....lol
the best system is the 4 foot long 54 watt with 6-8 tubes slung together on a board, hung on chains adjusted daily to within a inch of the leaf tips, many growers screw up and get the 2 foot equivalent, if you did this ...just get another 2 foot system to make up for the shortfall, yeah it costs to run a T5/T8 rack, but you got less heat or bother than even cfl users lol, although it does take some balls to defoliate the lower limbs come mid to late veg, as light just dont' reach that low, and it improves ventilation too, in veg go 50/50 on cool white..warm white later in bug go 100% warm white ...as for the leds..I'd leave that for some noobs ...lol

If I were you, I wouldn't mess around with replacements and just get a dedicated LED light if you want to try it out.  This noob right here is having excellent success with one LED fixture seed-harvest in a 5x5 tent.

A buddy of mine has terrific results from a combination of T5s and LED.
