Icemuds Advanced LED XTE grow: BIG POTS, Harlequin, Ogiesel, Black Chery cola.

  1. Alright everyone.... to switch gears on things......

    UPDATE TIME!!!!!
So today makes day 65 of flowering (from the flip) and I decided it was time to harvest.

The black cherry cola seemed to stop growing about a week ago and wasn't uptaking water anymore and so the plant health has been declining for the past 2 weeks and so I decided she was ready to harvest. Even though most of the fan leaves have browned and died, the buds are very healthy and green, full of trichomes, and with just a little disturbance of the buds my whole room smelled like grape chewing gum (like bubblicious). Can't wait to have more of this ready I love the flavor of the BCC

The Ogiesel is a tank, and has pushed through all my changes and getting used to the new pots and out of the 3 plants was the only one that pushed through and kept growing. She is made of amazing genetics and such great traits I will continue to grow Ogiesel for some time and recommend it to anyone! Very heavy skunk smell and flavor, with a good mix of OG.

So the plants will be hung for about 5-7 days depending on how the humidity is and how fast they dry. I will be adding some wet towels to the tent in which they are drying in to raise the humidity to 65 where its at 50 right now which pretty much is the average for here.

I am not sure which plants will be up next for growing for my next journal, but most likely it will be my Tangies so I can select the pheno I like an take it from there.

Pics from before and during harvest...

OK.... Well that time has come....

The plants that were hanging to dry were about 85% dry so I decided to trim them up and jar them for curing. The stems did not snap but were pretty brittle before bending and all the buds have lost a majority of the water weight and were dry and crunchy on the outsides, but I could
tell had just a little moisture inside which needed to be burped out for curing.

I personally like to leave a little moisture in the jars and burp it out, rather than overdry and have no way to correct it and this usually leaves me with a very fragarant smoke and smooth as well.

So each plant took about 2 hours to trim, but I wasn't speed trimming for cash either, watching movies along the way, smoking and getting up for breaks to keep circulation going in my legs...LOL. (not a fan of trimming at all)

So after trimming all the buds they were placed into jars and will be burped for the next week or so until completely dry and then sealed for 2weeks or more (hopefully i can keep my grimy hands out

So I did take the weight of each plant, which I would say is pretty close to final weight since there is hardly any water weight left..but it may change by a few grams in the next week.

    dun dun dun.....

    Black Cherry Soda: 85g
    Ogiesel: 144g
    Total weight 229g
    Gram per watt .31g/w

Well overall I have to say despite me having a rough time with this grow, and having to cull my harlequin, and with my black cherry soda stopping growing a few weeks ago, I am still pretty impressed with this yield overall. Definitely not near my best g/w and not near my best yeild for this tent, but with all the issues its ok because i still ended up with a decent amount.

Now the good news... Originally I was trying to see if it was better for me to run 6 plants or 3 in larger pots and which would yield more...
Since my last run of Ogiesel in 5 gallon pots ended up at 70g, and this one in smart pot #10's at 144g.. I would say its about a tie and if my plant health would have been better overall I think it would have even
    yielded better

So the grow did gather some decent data

Well I will update with more Bud Pron in a few days after the curing has started and I have more motivation...LOL I've been not only trimming for the past 2 nights but then all day today was cleaning my tent, transplanting my tangies and a few other plants and moving them around
for the next grow.... exhausted and haven't even eaten yet today...

I want to thank each and every one of you for following along with my grow, helping with information, engaging in discussions and bringing me good vibes and advice!!!

  3. Congrats Ice!!!!

So you think that the larger pots are the way to go? I mean it does follow the "More Roots, More Fruits" saying that I love so much!

  4. Thanks bro!!

  5. Thanks Max Yields... well overall I wish I would have had a better grow cycle but plant health got the best of me on this round so the only plant that I was able to compare was the Ogiesel. The ogiesel yielded slightly more than 2x the yield in previous grows, but only by 4g more, so its hard to say. On this grow using the larger pots but less plants the yield was equal, so I will have to try it again on a future grow to see if I can get more data. I was pretty disappointed overall with this grow as I was trying to get used to watering 3x more soil, and I think I was overwatering quite a bit.

  6. so yeah, bigger has to be a lil easier , if your not moving them around...

  7. Yea I think if I get the watering down in the larger pots I will have a much better yield. I think I overwatered quite a bit which reduced the actual yield I got and led to my poor plant health... always learning :)

  8. Sorry everyone I haven't updated... I actually started a new grow, but didn't start a journal for the current grow so I will just post my updates here for now....

Here is a video update of my current grow...

  10. Here is a quick grow update video of my Tangie pheno hunt grow.

  11. Day 42 flowering in my Tangie tent. All 7 plants are tangie genetics grown from seed, in organic 3 year old soil (recycled and re amended) using earth juice and humboldt nutrients. Currently I am using Budmaster COB led grow lights to finish up this grow.

  12. Looks great holy cow.

  13. Heyzzz Icemud, I've researched hard, I can find only 1 company in the UK that use Cree XTE, and only 1 company that uses the new Osram.
    Ssl80 I believe.
But no Uk company that uses both.
I've emailed Advanced Led 3 times asking if they deliver to the Uk

  14. .......

  15. ...but they don't reply.
Have you any advice for me?
