Rocky Mountain Organic Outdoor Grow 15

Discussion in 'Organic Grow Journals' started by ColoradoCanna, May 6, 2015.

  1. It's been a rough grow season thus far. The harsh cold has taken its toll on several dozen seedlings in March. With outdoor temps now in the sixties, all risk of death has passed.

So let me introduce the ladies. There are 11 teens. 2 Headband, 2 Juicy Fruit, and the rest are Golden Goat and LSD. The grower did not label them, so they will be identified once they mature.

They have been through a whole mess of issues already, but are now on their way to greatness. They were once beautiful. With a little love, I hope to have them looking healthy very soon.

This girl had the most damage. Thus the bareness.

    1430870458787.jpg
    This is presumably a LSD.

    1430870571482.jpg
This is one of two Headbands. Very short and bushy compared to others.

    1430870670533.jpg
    Unknown strain as of yet.

    1430870768047.jpg
This one is believed to be Golden Goat. She had the most damage to new growth and thus has been topped.

    1430870872464.jpg
This is supposedly one of the LSD. She had the damage done out of all the plants.

    1430870975809.jpg
    Strain unknown as of yet.

    Strain unknown.

    Second Headband.

    1430871189159.jpg
    Unknown strain.

    1430871263694.jpg
    Presumably LSD.

  3. I'd like to take a moment to thank my only sponsor for the time being, Xtreme Gardening, who were nice enough to set me up with a 20 lb bag of Mykos, two 2.2 lb bags of Mykos WP, and two 2.2 lb bags of Azos. These are fantastic products which I highly recommend.

    Now, onto the grow.

I mixed up a starter soil which all the hese are currently residing. It is made up of SS Mix #4, perlite, coir, EWC, lime, and high N bat guano.

They will be transplanted outside when the super soil mix I've created has finished cooking. This mix is: SS Mix #4, Lucky Dog, perlite, mushroom compost, Eko compost, steer manure, sheep manure, high N bat guano, sea kelp, bone meal, Ancient Forest, oyster shell, EWC, gypsum, and dolamite lime.

With the temperatures lingering around H70 and L45, the girls still have a few weeks before they can be placed outside full time. They are now receiving light though a skylight approximately one foot above the conopy with supplemental daylight and soft white compact fluorescent bulbs.

  4. Just a pic of full grow

  5. Watered last night. Rain water, Mykos wp, and azos. They seem to be coming out of their stress. Very fragrant today.

Thanks a lot. Expecting massive results this season. Found some pics of the ladies right before "the incident" occurred. Lesson learned. Vigoro organic potting soil should never ever be used for any reason. Shame they were so damaged so quickly.

Some extreme curling on a few leaves still. Doesn't look like any prior damage is spreading but keeping a close eye on them.

  8. Transplanted the bigger seedlings into 1 gallon pots. Black Ops, RomxHeri.

  9. Do you attribute that to saturated soil, temps, or something else? Noticed you are growing in the same poly bags as me. Went through last night and put several extra holes in the bags to increase air at the root zone.

Sadly, lost a black ops seedlings due to clumsiness.

So ashamed at the way thy look. New growth is flawless on em though. Waiting for them to grow out a bit to remove the remainder of the affected leaves.

  10. Ya know, I'm not 100% sure what's up but I think part of the problem is when I'm watering water will pour out those side holes and leave dry spots throughout the bag, at least on mine. When I had mine in my basement I didn't want them leaking out on the floor so I left mine under watered cuz I was busy as fuck and basically neglected mine. Now that they are outside (and getting properly watered) they seem to be perking up quite a bit. I'm a little embarrassed of mine too. This is the worst looking plants to start a year that I've had and it all started when I transplanted in the bags.

  11. That's interesting. I wonder if the poly bags are just poor containers for growing. I did my veggie garden in these pots last year with piss poor results.

  12. i mean, if you get good water distribution throughout the pot I think they're alright...I have been putting my hose right against those side holes and watering from the bottom as well now that mine are outside and they seem to be doing better. Mine are kinda freaking a lil from being revegged as well. Plus I didn't put them outside gradually. I just threw them outside and said fuck it cuz I don't have time to go back and forth. Like yours, new growth looks good. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1431180631.911609.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1431180736.476678.jpg

The last few days have been 80's here but I'm still worried about one last frost. I'm taking a small gamble about leaving my plants out this early. Usually I wait till memorial weekend.

Jesus, 80s would be so great. Ya, I'm in the Rockies. Looks like we got about 6" of snow. Wish they'd hurry up and legalize in NC so I can get back and take advantage of the super long double grow season.

Have a friend that had a bag seed pop up in their yard earlier this year. Grew a cpl feet and survived being completely buried by snow twice. A testament to the BS these girls can endure.

  17. Soooo, not much going on today. Watered the larger plants with some melted snow and half strength high N bat guano. First nute feeding this grow. if they don't burn, I'll feed the rest in a cpl days with the guano, azos, and mykos. Need to pick up some EWC to start brewing a foliar feed soon.

The girls are doing very well. A couple of them are still looking a little bare. Soil pH has leveled off at 6.5. All but two plants were super cropped and only two have not come through it 100%. I suspect those remaining two will be back in a day or so.
Brewing a tea made from guano, EWC, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, molasses, oyster shell, and azos. At about 36 hrs right now. PH is right so sprayed them down with a little bit, diluted to about 1\4 strength. Also poured a little into the soil of a few. Will thoroughly spray tomorrow making sure to really get the underside of the leaves as long as test spray shows no I'll effects.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to grow outdoors here as planned. So the plants will be moving to a friends place once its time to put them outside. I'll still keep updating, location has just changed.
