Don't get the honeycomb imo

 

Dont get anything that is 30-50$ most likely shitty china glass (dont get any glass under 150$ in my opinion), just save up and get a proper piece. If you have to get one of these then i would go with tornado. Honeycombs are Chinas trademark.

terrible advice. There are plenty of American artists/companies that sell quality pieces below 150. And there is very decent Chinese glass for 30-50 that isn't shitty at all. And honeycombs are definitely not china's trademark. Ever heard of David Goldstein , or raybaby?both american artists who make frits/honeycomb style glass

 

I really like a honeycomb perk, but it's a bit of a pain to clean. Have you hauled out of both types of perks before?

 

it also robs alot of flavor but that mainly pertains to people who vaporize

 

i was with you until you tried to make a pro china argument. There's NEVER a reason to buy Chinese ass glass.

alot of American artists that sell under 150$ are local blowers from peoples respective cities that I frankly dont know by name. ALOT of glass that is found in these online headshops that is under 100$ is china glass. Yes I know who David Goldstein is, I own one of his pieces and im pretty sure he makes only fritted percs, I have never seen a honeycomb made by him. If you are under the impression that honeycombs and fritted percs are similar....they are not. Only Dave knows how to make a proper fritted perc, no china made glass could EVER have a proper fritted perc. Half of chinese pieces have honeycombs and half of them have tree percs. So yes its a chinese trademark, as in they make those motherfuckers like crazy.

 

theres plenty of good chinese glass out there for cheap. Look on DHgate. For some reason people are under the impression that the Chinese glass isnt hand blown, this really isnt the case. Many of these chinese companies work closely with the FC community, taking criticism and actually making changes to their work. Check out work done by steven and you will see that there really is no better value glass. I would avoid the TI nails though. 

 

I don't get the blanket hate for Chinese glass. I understand the quality of glass can be a lot worse than some domestic glass, but putting all the glass from China in one category isn't right either,

 

exactly. i am just careful when i buy such a thing. like when i went to oregon for a couple weeks not to long ago. no way i was going to buy some 300$ something or other. i went with a strait tube with a solid looking tree perc and 16 or so inches tall. 45$ out the door. it was red china garbage but it smoked soooooo much better then a 25$ acrylic pos FFS...
 
now i wouldn't necessarily break out china glass when i am at home or anything. i got a big ol monster Zob with an inline and i love it. everyone who has hit it loves it. but i still wouldn't have bought one just to give it away in a few weeks. there is a time and a place for everything i guess. hell, i almost went with a PVC DIY bong when i was in oregon because i couldn't find something cheap enough to use as a throw away later.
 
i don't see all of the hate about china glass either. i can see why prissy bitches complain about it so that they can show off their 2000$ heady penis bong complete with ridges for her pleasure. pretty much every post where someone dogs the shit out of red china glass has some sort of expensive deal that they need to justify the price to us all. so they feel better about their purchases or something i guess. 
 
the way i see it, one is just more expensive then the other and of course you get what you pay for. some people just have a beer budget while others simply cant justify the price of expensive glass no matter how much money they have in the bank.
