What is the window to start flushing?

  1. In other words how should the hairs and trichomes look to start a two week flush Of my Autoflowers? I don't want to let them go too long.
I have a pretty good idea of when to harvest. I'm just wondering how to predict the flushing two weeks in advance.
Heres some pics. The buds with the most orange are the "Fast & Vast" and the others are my "Northern Lights". Most of my trichs are pretty clear still. I think the 2 Fast & Vast will mature first.

  2. I WANT SOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. No way FINALLY someone else growing Fast and Vast auto!!! How long from germ to bud? (I'm shooting for 70 days) Im gonna use FF trio is that ok? Also any tips? I started them in party cups made of styrofoam so i can just break the cup away and the Autos won't even know they were transplanted since i won't disrupt the root ball.

  4. Also did you top the Fast and Fast or just let em go?

  5. Start flushing 2 weeks before chop

  6.
I soaked seeds for 15 hours and straight into 3 gallon fabric pots. 50/50 mix of Happy Frog and Ocean Forest.
I heard autos do not like transplanting or topping.
    I'm using Grow More nutes.
Here's my grow journal. Much more in here. Scroll to the first page.

  8. Damn dude, nice work.

  9. I'm pretty proud of my first grow so far.
Well technically my second but that was over 20 years ago.
    Thanks!

  10. Like I said, before you plan to chop. So if it's a 9 week strain and you're on week 6, you would begin flushing week 7.

    How are you feeding it?

  11. Looking beautiful bro good job

  13.
It's a good question, and where beginners often have trouble. There are no simple signs to show you it's just two weeks to go unfortunately. But, a plant that has two weeks to go will likely have most of its pistils browned off, most of its trichomes cloudy, and all new growth stopped.

Imo flushing is over rated anyway, as long as you aren't overdosing there shouldn't be any negative effects.

You cannot flush a plant, if it's in the plant, then it's staying there. You can only flush the soil so the plant runs low on nutes and starts feasting on itself. If you wait too long and only get to flush for a week I doubt anyone could tell. I believe overdosing is where the problem lies

  14. I think my nutes are right where they are suppose to be. Just a little tiny tip burn but not on all the leafs.
    Thanks for that informative response.

  15. It's interesting that my Fast & Vast girls have their hairs turning orange all over yet their trichomes are still pretty clear. In fact as I have gotten a better magnifier I have a hard time finding any trichs that are cloudy.
My Northern Lights girls have very few orange hairs and clear trichs.

Every plant is different, I'm often a bit lost when growing a new plant. I love cloning so you get to know the plant and know what to expect. I have had plants in the past that all the pistils die back way before it's ready, and I have also had plants that come harvest time it's still throwing out new pistils. Looking at the pistils is a very broad indication, it's an easily noticeable sign so often a good indicator for a beginner, but trichome colour is a far better indicator
