Tahini firecracker?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by Sjfin, Apr 29, 2015.

  1. So I made fire crackers using tahini instead of peanut butter. Mixed the tahini with meds, microwaved for 30 sec then 2x 15 seconds. Maybe .3-.5 of meds. Awaiting results. Should be another hour before I know.

Theoretically this should work. I've heard people getting results from this method using peanut butter or Nutella. Tahini has a way higher fat percentage so I figured it would absorb THC better.

I recommend doing the "sit out" method for anyone attempting to use tahini though since it's so watery. The microwave makes it even more watery.

If I get good results I will do this again and let them sit for a week wrapped in tin foil.

  2. So it's been bout an hour and I've done some bong hoots but I definitely feel the body effects. And I keep forgetting what I'm doing. Idk though

  3. Overall mediocre. More or less sober now. For anyone that finds this lol

  4. Any edible you make in the microwave will probably be a waste of weed.

  5. I've gotten mixed results. I kind of agree though. Overall I'd rather smoke it.

I know you can mix peanut butter and buds, let it sit for a couple weeks and that's enough to decarboxylate. The microwave just speeds up the process essentially.

But it's all guess and check with the microwave

  6. I don't know who told you that but that's not how it works.

  7. Decarboxylation occurs naturally with time and temperature, as a function of drying, but we can shorten the amount of time required considerably, by adding more heat. The more heat, the faster it occurs, within reasonable ranges, and in fact occurs spontaneously when the material is burned or vaporized.

There's a bunch of threads that talk about it too.

    Plus just duh

  8. The microwave doesn't heat the meds. It heats the peanut butter which in turn heats the meds. Fats and oils absorb the evaporated chemicals

  9. Plus if you're worried about wasting a couple g here and there...

    Make more money lol

  10. Your graph doesn't show decarboxylation until 176 degrees...

The graph actually shows mg present per time period per heat...

Decarboxylate isn't on and off. It's an on going process that begins as soon as weed dries

  12. And the graph was made by Russians in 1990. I've seen it before in different sites. Plus you're point was to say that's not how decarbing works, when in fact it is how it works.

I started this more to talk about tahini instead of peanut butter. Since I haven't seen anyone use tahini to mix with bud

If leaving weed at room temperature decarbed it I'd have half a pound of active buds at all time. All the working methods involve heating the bud to 200 for at least 20 minutes, which isnt going to happen after a few seconds in the microwave, it called logic kid.

  14. Lol kid.

  15. K well you are obviously really smart so why are you talking to a 30 year old kid?

Basically, why are you wasting ur time telling off a kid? Do you have nothing better to do?

The graph is logarithmic. Higher heat less time. That's logic. Do you know what the temp inside a microwave is?

  16. You're just super negative aren't you? lol

Go back to your anime "kid"

  17. Anyway.. Like I said. I couldn't care less about the method of heating. Just talking about the edible itself.

You don't have to be involved in this conversation little one.

  18. Every time I make edibles I end up just wishing I'd smoked it. I think i just don't absorb thc well in this manner

  19. well looking at the stats for tahini, it doesn't have a good enough sat. fat content to really absorb your THC...

it is listed at 5%, Peter Pan peanut butter is 15% and coconut oil (the best IMO) is 65%...

also you didn't get it cooked into it good enough, it needs heat to absorb into the fat, you didn't heat enough...

also i use a lot more than .5, but my tolerance is high so maybe that'll work for you, but even my first time ever trying edibles .5 was a waste

  20.
I use between 1-4 grams a day depending on what Im doing.  Rainy day closer to 4.  So i might need to use more in my edibles for sure.  Or use stronger buds, or some combination there of.

This was sort of a test for me since I've heard it was possible, sounded really simple, and I'm not worried about wasting weed.  But no, without baking, there were no psychoactive effects.  I'm still super confused on how to make good edibles 100% of the time.  If anyone has suggestions or recipes let me know for sure.  Next time I bake i'm using a decarbing method a buddy showed me.  just gonna eat the buds straight no edible.

oooooohhhhhhhhhhh   so saturated fats v unsaturated...

you want stuff with high saturated fat content?  I was only really looking at the overall fat content.

    If I wanted to make weed infused coconut oil what would I do? is this right;

    Mix weed and coconut oil.
    heat to 250f for 20 - 25 min
leave covered and allow to cool down to room temp

done? thats what I would do based on my vast lack of cooking experience.

and seriously.  not trying to get bitched out by some anime loving turd for trying something that others are too poor to try.
