    Took a couple weeks here in New Mexico even though they said it would take 40 days.  Remember you are dealing with your state government not a business.  We still send our renewal in 40+ days in advance to ensure we do not have a lapse.  Go to your state's website for better insight on the timeline or call their office for the best guidance.
