Have my MM Card in Maine, traveling to San Francisco.....?

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by w0034, Apr 28, 2015.

  1. Greetings!  Traveling to Cali in a month.  A couple of questions.  1. Can I get into dispensaries or shops with my Maine MM card, even if not to purchase, to look?  2.  If not, can I get a cali card in short order once I get there somewhere?

    Thanks,
    w00

  2. good lucky ..

  3. You can't get in with your Maine card because CA doesn't have reciprocity. You can get a card in a day, though, by getting a CA state I.D. You can schedule a DMV appointment online and then use a UPS box for your CA address. You could go to a UPS store in the morning and DMV in the afternoon; and even have a doctor's appointment scheduled for later in the afternoon. To get the UPS box, you'll need two forms of I.D., like a drivers license and social security card or a state I.D. The tricky part of doing it all in one day is that your state I.D. will be temporary, which means only some doctors and dispensaries will honor it; but it's not impossible to find them, you'll just run across some that require permanent paperwork.

  4. nice try for your guys ..but still i am too confused too it..

  5. Ugh, too much trouble. oh well.

  6. Yes - it is if you are a non-resident.

I read someone say that you have to be a resident for at least two years. Either way, you're going to NorCal, you'll blend in just fine. ;)

Just be smart about it. Police are not necessary looking for cannabis patients. However, there are still laws about medicating. People just can't toke up anywhere they want.

I'm not saying that you should break any laws. What I am saying is that I know a few people who have a valid medical reasons that use cannabis. However, they choose to keep their medical use private (meaning - they don't have cards).

  7. Ok, you missed my point completely, but maybe I never made it in the first place  :)

I'm going to visit my cuz but also get seeds or clones from anything that i can find that looks amazing (that isn't around the east coast).  I have my caregivers lic, and want to get some different variety.  I have the scale where I can run 3 or 4 other strains to test them out.

I'm not worried about smoking there.

    Thanks,
    w00

  8. Stick with the seeds, the clones will never make the journey.

The only state that currently recognizes another state's MMJ card is Nevada,

  9. Not true. There is no time requirement.

  10. No, Arizona, Delaware, Maine, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire and Rhode Island have reciprocity.

You are mixing apples and oranges.  Only two states allow for any sales, one requires a doctor's note (Maine).  So to make it crystal clear, NEVADA is the only state that simply walking in with your MMJ card and ID and signing a piece of paper allows you to walk right back out with Medical use pot.

Those other states you listed?  They allow consumption and possession in accordance with their laws.

In a few months, Nevada will set a new bar for the medical marijuana industry with a provision in the law state legislators passed last year allowing dispensaries to set up shop.
The provision allows any legally registered MMJ patient from anywhere in the world to purchase marijuana in any of those dispensaries.
It's called “reciprocity,” and only a few other states in the country have it, but to varying degrees. Maine, for example, allows for reciprocity, but requires confirmation from a doctor. And in Rhode Island, it's legal for out-of-state MMJ patients to possess up to two and a half ounces, but they're not allowed to purchase marijuana at dispensaries. But Nevada is something of a test case, because their dispensaries will likely target out-of-state MMJ patients as a market.

Nevada is not the only state that allows the purchase of cannabis by out of state residents with recommendations. Some states, like Michigan, technically only honor cards from states that also have reciprocity. However, many Michigan dispensaries honor California cards, although California does not have reciprocity.

Duh. Nevada you go in with your card and ID into any medical MJ shop and purchase. PERIOD.

Michigan??? Sounds like they can't even follow their own rules. Either you can or can't. Nobody actually travels there from Cali do they???? LOL. Keep mixing those apples and oranges until you can toss a salad.......which you can.....

Straight up ONLY IN NEVADA can you walk into a medical shop with your ID and buy IN EVERY MEDICAL MJ STORE.  Telling anyone else anything else can lead to people going to shops in other states when the only reciprocity is possession and use only or requires a doctor's note or apparently the case in Michigan so loosely policed that one shop does this but on Tuesdays does that or if you...whatever dude.

/sigh. Another one to add to ignore. Conversation is over bro.  I don't ignore many people.  We don't see eye to eye but all you keep doing is adding "But this but that" and nothing really good to the conversation.  You sound like my son....and that's NOT a complement.
