So this sucks. Silent Hills has been officially cancelled. I don't get it. This one was a no brainer. I think it must have happened something like this... Guy in Konami meeting: "Hey, you guys know that slam dunk we have been working on with all these genius people that everyone wants? Let's not do that anymore." Everyone else in meeting: "Brilliant! Genius idea cancelled!" FML!
Ohmygod I found that out yesterday and just... I cannot express how pissed off I am. When the demo released, I played it right away and was so damn excited to play the full game. About a year later, "NOPE. Game is cancelled now!" Like what the actual hell. Don't play with gamers hearts! ):<
It's pretty fucked up man. I feel like it is Star Wars 1313 all over again...except I feel like this had even more potential. It sucks so much when we are promised something awesome and then it is destroyed.
The game. Are there even plans for more movies? Another example of a great game that could have been a great movie but the opportunity was squandered. Silent Hill had so much potential as a film because as real fans know, Silent Hill is not so much an actual town as it is a state of mind. We all know the monsters aren't real. You create them there out of your own pain and regret.
No im just stupid lol. I wish they would make another movie though, silent hill was great. Pyramid man yo. its like a semi psychological thriller indeed. We are all some sort of monster on the inside, in silent hill they just happen to manifest outside of the body (and in various other forms). I was never into scary games and whatnot but P.T. looked like something id actually enjoy with a cool innovative concept. Bummed they aren't going through with it, lets hope they have other plans. They cant just leave a massive fan-base hanging like that.
I know right?! Especially since Norman Reedus was in the game. I fucking love that actor. I hope someone will take over the idea since we need more better horror games.
Well, they also stated they are dedicated to continuing the Silent Hill franchise. But what they had going for this one was pure genius. This is a sad day for gaming fans.
Well, that's lame as fuck. Was actually really stoked for this, and I really do not care for these titles. With Kojima behind it I figured it'd be monumental, I'm very surprised to hear it's cancelled considering someone so incredibly successful was on board at one point. What a shame, it looked badass.
I'm pretty sure he was "let go". I haven't seen anything about it being his decision. I could be wrong but the Japanese are normally hush about stuff like this.
It was initially reported that he was fired. But last week more info came out and it was supposedly his decision. IGN had several articles about. I will find one and post it.
I was really looking forward to this one. Dedicated to continuing Silent Hill, eh? Yeah, good luck with whatever you had in mind before Guillermo fucking del Toro and Hideo fucking Kojima signed on.
