  1. What's up everyone?  Never posted on this forum before but I've read a lot of good tips from people growing and experimenting on here.

Anyways, I just got off active duty military (infantry) and decided to start growing my own plants indoors.  I live around some nosy neighbors and I'd like to keep my budget low, so buying a discreet grow box for $1,000 seemed a bit steep.

I decided to build a small grow box from scratch, just some lumber, plywood, insulation, etc.  I had to keep it small, so a single piece of 1/8" plywood did just fine for attaching to the outside of the frame.  4 pieces of 2'x4' lumbar to build a solid frame and give me something to mount on.  I'm still figuring the intake, but the exhaust is mounted as high up on the opposite side of where the intake is going to go.  I used a 6'' inline duct fan and wired everything myself to a control box attached to the outside of the grow box.  I used a type of styrofoam/foil insulation I found at home depot to cut out and stuff the inside part of the frame and create a nice seal.

The bulbs I got mounted are x4 Phillips 85w equivalent CFL's (19w CFL).
The dimensions of this build are VERY small.  18''L x 24''W x 30''H.  I'd say from the bottom of the box to the bottom of the bulb it's only about 17'', so I'll be using the sea of green or scrog technique.  This should be interesting since I've never grown...

I'll take some more pictures of the box when it's complete as well as some of the finer points/details of the box build.  I'm still figuring how to build/attach a carbon filter system to the exhaust to contain the skunk when I start flowering.  Let me know if you guys have any ideas!

P.S. I'm going to begin germination in the next week or so, just waiting for some quality seeds to come in and finish up my box.  I will post pictures of my entire first grow!
