Just recieved a password change verification Email , and did not request one. Did somebody physically try to hack my account? Or is this commonly done by Spambots ? Thanks in advance.
I think someone was trying to get access to your account. It wasn't a hack (which requires code to be changed or implemented) but cracking your password.
System will only send password reset e-mails to registered e-mail address. If you didn't trigger this request , someone else who knew your e-mail address did it. If your e-mail account is safe , there is nothing to worry about. But for extra safety i suggest you to update your e-mail password.
Yes indeed, hence my concern. Thanks for the reply Omega... I'm far from Computer savvy, I haven't even posted here since that day, kinda freaked me out a bit. Appreciate the response and the advice... Email seems secure, I've updated my password for my Email as a result.. So, the person who attempted this would have to know my GC SN and my Email addy, Correct? As another step of precaution, i may change up my username as well. Thanks for the replies guys... I have not been active here for a while due to this incident. Hopefully I'm just being over-Paranoid.
