Transplanting from coco to soil...?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by effDEA, Apr 26, 2015.

  1. Hey everybody,

I was thinking about keeping a mother plant for my grow. I currently have 5 recent clones vegging for 6 days now. 1 is in a 5 gal DWC and 4 are in coco. So when planning to keep a mother I decided to go with the strongest of the 4 in coco. So my question is, should I continue to grow her in coco or transplant her into soil? She's currently in a 1L pot and I was planning to use a 7gal smart pot. And if I should transplant, is there any precautions I should take? Any input will be appreciated.

    Thank you
    C

  2. i used 30gal for the mother

  3. I was thinking about going bigger too, but I'm probably just going to flower the mother after about 15 to 20 cuttings and use a clone for the new mother. And I'll just experiment with a coco mother and one transplanted to soil.

  4. I would keep it in coco. Why do you want to change mediums

  5. I don't want to switch, it's just that I have more experience with keep mothers in soil (not cannabis though, this is my first cannabis grow) and never done coco. I guess it won't hurt to try. Thanks for your input.

  6. Oh no worries man. Maybe you should go with soil. For some reason when my plants start to outgrow their pot in coco they start showing deficiencies. Where as in soil that only begins to happen when they have a solid wall of roots hah

  7. Well, I'll experiment both and see what happens.
