Whats up with my plant? Ive never seen this before...

  1. I have a Gorilla Glue #4 clone.  As you can see by looking at the photo, I've picked it pretty clean of cuttings for the time.  It has been completely healthy so far, until this.  I've never seen leaves look like this before, and I dont know what the cause is...  Take a look...

Anyway, what do you think it is, and how do I fix it???  I really dont want to lose this plant, even though I did take clones off of her.

Also, for the record, yes - I do have her outside.  I know its a bit early, but I dont have any acceptable lights to veg indoors at the moment.  Trying to resolve that issue, but for the moment, there is nothing I can do.

  2. You didn't mention if you're using any nutrients, if so, probably should flush out the soil.  At this stage, the plants don't need much more than soil and water. I prefer to use a soil free mix of coco coir, perlite, vermiculite, and fine sphagnum moss.  Later as the plants mature, adding a "tea" made of worm castings, and a weak nutrient solution of both macro and micro nutrients, as well as mycorrhiza

How close are the plants to the light, is it possible that the tender shoots are being scorched?  Remember also that at this stage, the plants really need some humidity (50-60%) to keep from drying out.  That is

I would cut off the damaged leaves.  Look at the underside of the leaves to make sure the plant isn't infested with thrips, spider mites, or other pests.  If so spray a food-safe insecticide.

  3. No insects.  All I've given her so far for nutrients is 5-1-1 Fish Fertilizer at a rate of once per week, and a little weaker concentration than the label says.

It's not under artificial light.  Temps havent been too high where I'm at.  As for humidity, it has been raining pretty steadily for two days.

I was thinking it might be a cal/mag deficiency, myself... No?  I noticed that even the cuttings I took developed the same thing on a couple leaves, but it developed after I placed them in my cloner.  Another reason I think it might be a deficiency.

Also, it's in Kelloggs Patio Plus, top dressed it yesterday with like .5" - 1" of thermal compost.  That's when I noticed the issue.

And just to clarify...  This is a clone.  It is mature.  It's not a seedling.

  4. What are you using for a medium? I'd say rootrot/overwatering from lack of aeration.

  5. .....  Kellogg's Patio Plus potting soil.

So I just let it dry out...?

  6. I highly doubt there is any kind of nutrient deficiency...they are too young to need much at all. I would slow down on the fish ferts. The one thing that comes to mind for me is you're Ph could be off. Check it. Also, as Fullmetal said, you could have an over watering problem as you're leaves do seem to be drooping some.

    Good luck

I'll check the pH momentarily.  I havent watered or fed anything since.  I plan to let the soil dry out quite a bit before I give it anything else.

Again, I'm not sure people are understanding.  This is a clone.  It is fully mature.  It had about 6 branches, but I cut them off to make more clones.

Last time I'll say it, so I dont seem like a repetitive ass.  Just want to make sure everyone understands its not a brand new clone, nor is it a young immature seedling.

  8. If they were originally inside and you've put them outside without gradually introducing them to the stronger sunlight they may be getting too much light too soon. We'll see if they turn white like my vegge starts did. It's not a deficiency yet. If anything it would be too much nutrients or another problem which is more likely in my opinion.

  9.
    What was your ph?
I understand it is a clone i should have said "small" instead of "young".
