So there's been this question in my head lately, and thats, is it still worth growing when so many states are beginning to legalize? I mean most of them are going to be medical if they aren't already. And recreational probably won't be far behind. My point is with bigger possibilities of shops being everywhere within the near future, is it still worth growing your own when there might be a shop down the street from you soon? I think eventually it'll get to a point where almost everyone is growing and it'll be the "norm" to have plants growing in your backyard. I think about this a lot to simply because, marijuana is the future. Boom that statement though lmao. But what are your guys thoughts on this? Is it still worth growing your own bud? How do you feel about everyone having pot farms in there backyard?
What do you mean is it worth growing? I can grow 100x in 4 months what I could ever afford to buy. I get to control every aspect of what I ingest. Does it make sense for Ill people or anyone else to give their money to someone else for a product they can probably grow better and much cheaper themselves? Not to me But I can't speak for anyone else. This is my personal opinion. ~ poke

Of course it would still be worth it , a 600w hid grow will cost less than an ounce of bud , I average twelve ounce a cycle (per 600w) . About £130 in electric , plus nutes and soil £20 so about £150 for twelve ounce ain't gunna be likely in the corner shop especially when it averages at £10 for a gram here. Plus the enjoyment I get from tending to my garden
Way worth it. Not only am I saving money, but I picked up a hobby that's relaxing and I actually enjoy. Can't put a price on that. With an extremely hectic life, a few minutes of peace and quite in my grow is priceless.
Amen brother. What an enjoyable hobby. My state is illegal so it beats the heck out of the street. But even if I could walk to the dispensary, I think I would buy a quarter ounce just to compare and inspire me to grow better.
If you keep growing, maybe you can get some valuable experience, and when legalization comes, you could grow legally for the shop down the street, and have free bud AND a legitimate income...
I use the dispensaries to buy a gram here and there. It's only for strain research. To see if I wish to grow it.

Even if it cost me as much as what I pay on the street, I personally would still grow. On top of enjoying growing, i know where it came from, how it was grown, every last detail. The satisfaction of that 1st bowl in the morning from something I grew, is all I need for it to be worth it. But ya, if I didn't enjoy growing and didn't mind buying bud that I can grow on my own for cheaper, then ya I wouldn't grow. I don't see that happening personally, but this is really a too each their own type situation.
I personally look forward to it being legalized. This would be a a great opportunity for me to actually keep growing, and tell people about it with out fear of punishment. Also You can't put a price on safe crops, once it's legal Monsanto will end up taking it over and will start ruining it with gmos. This isn't a dumb question at all. Having a "good grow" is damn hard. Disasters make you wonder why the hell you're spilling so much time and $. But I echo the comments from the blades above as to the benefits. I won't stop.....it's fun, it's economical, it's a constant source for the exact strains for my medical needs,it's a big middle finger to corporate bullshit n "government of the people"...my ass....sorry, really pissed off at Wash state after the screwing the medical users just got. So hell yeah it's worth it.... H
I am a medical patient. And I will always grow my own meds. This Bullshit Washington state just pulled on us medical patients is ridiculous. I don't want to register on a registry to have less taxes and be able to grow my meds. Al this will do is send people back to the underground. F Washington
It's pretty messed up. They legalize it, then criminalize growing your own because it's 'dangerous and hazardous' so they can charge everyone $25 a gram and make billions. They don't realize people will just stick to the black market and continue to grow their own - considering the harshest punishment you can get is a fine :lol:
