Am I supposed to buy another bowl to put over this bowl? Or use a screen to keep the stuff from falling? I don't smoke a lot, so I don't want to have to pack the whole thing everytime I want to use it. I don't really have a good understanding of water pipes, so any advice is welcome!
Screens never hurt, glass ones are great but an inconvenience to clean. Your piece should be fine, just pack the bottom tight(ish) and sprinkle some on top. This is my usual toke. (top, about 0.1 - 0.2grams) Roast in one breathe, repeat if necessary. View attachment 155171 <div> </div>
Yep you can just use a screen. Glass screens are great, they look like a little star shape and will sit in the bottom of your bowl. Can find one at most smoke shops for under 10 bucks. Regular screens like brass, gold, or whatever get clogged up fairly quickly, hence why you get them in packs of 5 or 10 for so cheap. It's better to go for glass, as it won't affect the taste of your herb and works the best. Congrats on your water pipe matey, welcome to the bong life! You'll never look back!
On a bong like that I prefer a mesh screen. I've had one before and it should have a little lip before the hole. A screen fits perfectly in the whole.
Nice little piece, mate. What I have done is buy a one hitter bowl for my bong when I want to smoke by myself. Otherwise you got good advice. Glass screens are cheap on Amazon. Have fun with your new glass.
I'm wondering if you don't realize how small that bong really is, sometimes it's hard to tell scale from a pic online. You should be fine. Have some screens on hand if you decide you need them.
I'd definitely try to get a glass screen. If u can't buy one just put a decent sized nug at the bottom then sprinkle the flakes on top. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
If the bowl hole is too big try this. Take a pinch of bud and press it gently into a small ball. Drop it into bowl first then fill bowl with loose herb. Never pack a bowl too tight. Glass screens are good, but always get thrown out with a cashed bowl. Good luck!
