Hey guys, so I'm almost done this year of school, which means that I'll be needing to get a job for the upcoming summer. Now I have to admit, I fucking hate working. That's why I'm in school right now (so that I don't work a shitty minimum wage job for the rest of my life). But I still have to get a job this summer, or else I'll be broke as a joke. So I was wondering what you guys think is the best minimum-wage job out there?

I've worked in restaurants before (dishwashing + cooking), and also tried a business job last summer (selling knives). I hated both jobs. Restaurant life is too stressful and demanding, and dishwashing is just plain nasty. Selling knives was hard as fuck as I had no success, pus, the job was a scam, as they pretty much forced you to pay to attend seminars to better yourself. Obviously, I was against the idea of paying your company who you work for. I mean wtf? The people who you work for are supposed to pay you, not you pay them. So the entire time that I was working there, my boss and I were on really bad terms.

One of my friend works as a grain grader at a terminal. He pretty much sits on his ass his entire shift and once in a while, presses a few buttons. I like the idea of this job, but I feel that I would be bored to death. I mean, my friend just plays on his phone for like 8 hours straight... how the fuck do you do that?

I was thinking, like the jobs that people have who stand on the corners of streets advertising for fundraisers and stuff would be chill. As long as you get paid by the hour, and not on how many people you entice to give up their money. That way, I would be able to stand outside, talk to pretty girls and enjoy the sunlight, all the while, getting paid.

I think working at a book store would be chill too, because you can just stand around and talk to people about books. But I don't think I read enough books to be able to do that.

I dunno, what do you guys think is the perfect minimum wage stoner job?

I'm looking for: easy, but not too boring (e.g., restaurant is too stressful but my grain grader friend's job is too boring), and a job that will allow me to have the chance to socialize if I want to, but also quiet time if I want (e.g., as a dishwasher, I was in my own corner most of the time, which was nice, and sometimes I would socialize with the people who came to drop off the dishes).

  3. I may start working at the local hydroponic store. They are hiring next week they said. I don't believe you can do better than that. lol.

  4. Maybe apply at a golf coarse.  I have a friend who works at one and he loves it.  Just cleans golf carts, drives one, drives the ball picker upper machine, and general landscaping maintenance.  He is a stoner and occasionally smokes on the job.  He said he would smoke more but his dads friend owns it and he doesn't want to get caught.  But he also said all the kids who work there smoke on the job.

But really there is plenty out there, just need to find what you like.  I used to cut lawns and it rocked.  Nothing like looking at a freshly cut lawn stoned.  And the best part, I was allergic to grass so even if I wasn't stoned I looked stoned, so I used that as an excuse all the time.

  5. I was going to suggest landscaping.  Good Luck, have fun.

  6. Cutco! That's not a real job lol they got me too... I got a check from them years later in a class action lawsuit because they didn't pay for training.

    Good knives though.

    VP of marketing

there are plenty of great jobs for people that indulge in marijuana every now and then...

  8. I mean if you're specifically aiming for minimum wage just work at mcdonalds. You can get the job easily and with all the people coming through every day you'll never be bored

  9. Funny you mention that OP

I Was going to say street fundraiser after I read the title.

I did it for ariund a year, awesome job. Really fun chatting with people and you're doing it for a good cause. (I wouldn't work for green peace though)

They pay hourly and quite well with bonuses for good performance so you can make some petty damn good money. I was making bank on certain days

But It can get stressful with quotas. They're very strict and don't give yah second chances really
It's normally two bad days in a row and you get the can

So on that second day near the end you're sometimes almost begging people to sign up cuz you're gonna lose you're job.

Quirky interesting people and usually they all smoke
(At least in the offices I've worked in)

  10. I'd say a strain tester at the cannabis cup is the best job a stoner can get.

I assumed growers had it good..

I knew one and he didn't really work, of course he tended to the plants, but didn't seem like he was forced to, he actually enjoyed it.

I am a chef, after about 8 years my salary is starting to look great, but I am aggressively saving for other business ventures, including the stock market.

My parents, who ran a business, worked long hours and pretty much hated it. Once they were shown how to trade stocks online, bam! Easy money once you understand the market.
They're currently teaching me now, step by step, and my god!
Ever play dopewars on pc or phone? It's a more complex version, but fairly easy to grasp. All you need is money lol

Damn... I don't like the idea of another business oriented job, especially since selling knives didn't go so well...

I just don't like how they have certain quotas... puts a lot of pressure and stress on you.

You said that you did this job for a year... how did you survive that long? In your opinion, was it an "easy" job? I mean, talking to people sounds fun and easy and a great learning experience. What I'm worried about is the meeting the quota part. Also, how can you get such a job?

  15.
One of my brother's friends learned how to trade stocks in high school lol. He earned enough money to buy a really nice car.

One of my friend's grandma had one of her stocks crash, and she must've had all or most of her investments in it, because my friend told me that she was broke after that hahaha.

Hopefully that doesn't happen to your parents ;)

Personally, I'm too much of a "stoner" to learn how to trade stocks. But maybe if I had parents like yours, then maybe I'd be willing to learn from them.

Hmmm... golf course sounds like a relaxing job. I know some golf courses around my city, maybe I'll look into it.

The only cons I can think of is that the job might be boring and/or lonely, but that won't be so bad if I'm stoned all the time hahaha.
