planting germinated seeds

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Herijuana Heretic, Apr 22, 2015.

  1. Ive had a few issues after planting germinated seeds. Apparently I cooked them by making a saran wrap greenhouse. Left it on AFTER they popped out the dirt and ruined them. Im growing outdoors. I need ANY help I can get before I fuxk off the last of my seeds.

if you start them in a red solo cup ...even if they are only in the cup for a week or 10 days, I think you will have better success than putting them straight in the ground....it will be easier to control the water levels in a red solo cup...

Put some dirt in a cup...pack it down, but don't make it super super tight...just pack it down so the dirt is all snug in the cup....put your finger in about 2 knuckles down to make a nice hole for the seedling...plant seedling and push dirt around it so it is snug and comfy and standing up...I think its better to get as much of the root in the dirt as possible, even if you only have 1/4" on stem above the dirt because when you water the dirt is going to go down a little bit and you don't want too much of the stem exposed....

anyway, give it a nice healthy amount of water right after transplant...should be good for 2 days or so, at least, if u give it a good first watering....if the dirt around the stem in the cup goes down and the stem starts to get a lot of exposure after a few days just move some dirt from the sides of the cup and pack it around the stem to keep your seedling standing up

also, if you don't have a pH meter you can get distilled water for like $1 a gallon or just give it some Aquafina or Dasani water. Distilled water usually has a pH of 7.0 which is a little high but it beats tap water. 7.0 isn't perfect but it will be fine for a seedling...
and if you add pH down to 1g of distilled water, every drop is going to bring the pH down like .3...pH down is potent shit...if u don't have a pH meter or test kit don't even mess with it, just go with the 7.0 bottled water and your plants will be fine
