  1. There used to be some really good podcasts on the dopefiend.co.uk but it looks like it's gone downhill these days.  I used to really enjoy listening to Queer Ninja, The Dopecast, BB's Bungalow, Mangled Meditations, Black Light in the Attic and Lefty's Lounge.  These podcasts exposed me to some new music that I might not have otherwise heard.

I guess my favorites now are:  The Joe Rogan Experience, Freedomainradio, and Common Sense with Dan Carlin.

Do any of you blades have a podcast that you listen to regularly?  What are they?  I'm always on the lookout for something new to listen to.

  2. Bill Burr Monday morning podcast... Patrice oneal had one for a little while a few years before he passed.. umm I believe Doug Stanhope has one.. If you like Joe Rogan than you'll enjoy Death Squad, Kevin Perrera's Nonsense or w/e its called.. Idk if the Bone Zone still does a podcast but it was pretty good when they worked with DeathSquad but then the head of TBZ had an argument with Redban so..

Um... Just look for any stand up comedians IMO.

  3. Do you have a favorite one for music?

  4. ummm... I didn't know people listen to podcast for music.. I always thought it was for the conversations..

  5. The joe rogan experience!

  6. LOL I was actually trying to search the web to find info on what happened to the Dopefiend podcast network when this post popped up. There used to be so many good shows on it. The Dopefiend of course, but I loved Lefty's Lounge, BB's Bungalow, Queer Ninja, The Grow Report, Pot Head's coffee shop, among others. It was cool that there were multiple shows from all around the world giving different perspectives. I was planning on going to Dopefest in Amsterdam until I got laid off my job one year.

Kind of sad that most of the contributors dropped out. I've tried snooping around and finding what happened to the whole site. I know the Dopefiend semi retired/retired but he does vape reviews on youtube for his site. And I know a big part of it was that Zandor and Mrs Z from the Grow report got divorced. I think Zandor was the one who kept their forums up and running and the site. The forums are gone now, page up for sale. Lefty from Lefty's Lounge was still podcasting for awhile but even he hasn't even done a show for over a year.
The grow report did one last show, a goodbye show, but most of the shows just randomly stopped or trailed off. I'm sure the people who put them out just moved on with their lives or got busy but it was always something that I've been curious about.

The only podcasts i've ever really listened to are Bill Burr's Monday Morning and the Joe Rogan Experience.

  8. Love Ari Shaffir's Skeptic Tank. Not all of them, but a lot of them are really good. He just has someone on, and the conversation revolves around something interesting about them that is uncommon. For example, talking to someone who went through Electro Convulsive Therapy, someone who has had bulimia, someone who is suicidal, someone that's a prostitute, someone that almost died because he was so fat, etc. They aren't all as depressing as what I just listed but, they are all interesting.

The Mental Illness Happy Hour is fascinating. Just has people on to talk about their mental illnesses, many of the people being somewhat famous. How it developed, what it felt like, and basically kind of an in depth look at their life. Very cathartic to listen to.

    Obviously Joe Rogan Experience.

Lastly, the new Lovelines with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew. Forget what they're called, but if you search one of their names in itunes you'll find it.

  9. I actually hate Joe Rogan's podcast, he's super annoying and rude to his guests. I don't find him funny.

I listen to podcasts at work all the time, and I'm about to listen to a bunch tomorrow on my 14 hour drive home ahaha.

Depends on what kind you like, I guess. I never listened to a music or sports or gaming one. I listen to sciencey/spacey ones, I have listened to every single one of Neil DeGrasse Tyson's StarTalk Radio. His Cosmic Query sessions with Bill Nye are awesome.

Also enjoy Astronomy Cast, Naked Scientists, BBC's In Our Time Archive (some of these are from '99), Quirks and Quarks, Skeptoid (really dumb but entertaining conspiracy shit like Reptilian shit lmao), Stuff You Missed in History Class?

    Everyone's listened to Serial, right?

  10. Hunter Moore or the diamond baby

  11. Joe Rogan's podcast and Tom Green's Webovision (if you want to call it a podcast...don't think it is technically but it's a hilarious show nonetheless)

  12. Yeh he started being a dick to redban and people caught onto that real quick. Last one I watched he was fucking losing his mind holding his breath for like 5 minutes and doing weird shit like that. Joey Diaz is the best guest on any podcast though.

  13. I've honestly never liked Joe Rogan except for Fear Factor, so I had a negative bias toward his podcast too. I only listened to 2.5 episodes...listened to when he had Neil DeGrasse Tyson but it was clear Rogan wasn't smart enough to follow along with Tyson..listened solely to hear NDT get annoyed with him haha. Listneed to one with Ari Shaffir about China, and Ari's stories about China were super interesting. Again, listened solely for the guest and had to block out Rogan's stupid questions and obnoxious laughter. Last one with Greg Proops I never finished, so there's that.

  14. Forgot Duncan Trussell's Family Hour. I love him so much. He's very out there, and really opens your eyes to the possibilities of the world.

  15. Getting Doug with high!

  16. Drunken peasants

  17. I used to listen to the Grow Report and often wondered why Mrs. Z was allowed to read stories out loud. I thought she might have a learning disability since she seemed to read at about the level of a 12 year old. The divorce doesn't surprise me. Did anyone else detect a condescending tone from Zandor when he spoke to Mrs. Z? It seemed like he would get frustrated with her a lot of the time.

I've fine-tuned my podcast subscriptions and now listen to these the most:
The Adam Corolla Show (because he calls it like he sees it and doesn't give a shit about being politically correct).
TED Radio Hour (because there's nothing wrong with learning about Technology, Education, and Design).
Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast (funny comedian who goes on a rant every episode about something, also...not PC).
Market Foolery by The Motley Fool (because I play the market a little bit).
The Drunken Taoist (who doesn't enjoy stories about Buddhist monks that like to get drunk and hang around with whores?!)
The Duncan Trussel Family Hour (sometimes his guests are a little out there with there hippie beliefs).
Ari Shaffir's Skeptic Tank (seems to have a lot of comedians as guests, which I don't like to listen to).

I'd say I look forward the most to Bill Burr's podcast. I like how he loses sponsors because he makes fun of the products and/or scripts they give him to read about the products he's supposed to promote. For example "no more sweaty balls or clams" when you wear Me Undies underwear.

  18. It's hit or miss with me on Rogan's podcast. I immediately delete any of his podcasts that have fighters or comedians as his guests. I can only hear so many times about what it's like to be a standup comic. I do enjoy the podcast when he has scientists and doctors as guests.

  19. I'm going to give episode #150 a listen right now, "Vegan Gains vs. The Vigilant Christian".
