Hey all-- Last weekend, I met a girl on a 10 hr bus trip to a college campus visit. We sat together and totally hit it off. I learned a lot about her and her about me. After the whole two day tour and drive back home, we decided to try to give it a shot with each other even though we live relatively far from each other and our schedules hardly ever line up. We also made out on the trip back home. I don't know whether or not that's important to the story, but I'll throw it in anyway. I know it's kind of dumb to be so into a girl you just met, but I guess I'm just a sucker and catch feelings really quick. The thing is, I'm entering a point in my life where I don't really want to be so into a girl. I don't mean that in any mysognistic way. I had my heart broken once and am in no hurry for a repeat experience. I'm also going to college and would want to stay unattached as carefree. The thing is i really do like her. But the odds really do seem to be stacked against us. She said she was most likely choosing a different school anyways. I see no point in spending the next 3-4 months ( time before leaving for school) falling for a girl I eventually have to break up with. Also, she recently got out of a really long relationship, and confessed she still sort of had feelings for the guy. Stay friends with her but don't lock into a relationship. If you both go to different colleges you have a friend at another school to go party with, if she ends up at the same school as yourself then its just a bonus. Just because you like a member of the opposite sex doesn't mean you have to be involved with them romantically

You're going to meet sooo many girls in college...that live near you and have similar schedules. Think of that girl X 1000 being at college. Maybe she's super special but if I were you, I'd stay open and focus on your future. The girls will come.
