I just ordered a Platinum Grinder from Amazon for $20, but I'm returning it, because the screw on it came rusted.

This grinder has perfect reviews. Five stars all across. The only people who downgraded it, were ignorant people who seem to have bought it for grinding peppercorn.

But it is very, very odd to me, that nobody noticed the rusty screw. Do you really wanna ingest rust? Rust is very unhealthy and cancerous.

Anyway, I'm hoping a Space Case won't come with a rusty screw. Geezus, it really doesn't cost much to use screws that don't rust.

That said, I keep hearing about this so-called "Lifetime Warranty" for Space Cases, but how can anybody file the warranty, when this company doesn't even have an official website??

There are two websites for Space Case. One is spacegrinders.com. The other is spacecasegrinders.com.

Neither are official websites. They are merchants. I know a lot of people think spacegrinders.com is the official site, but I contacted them, and they're not. So if you don't buy it from them, they won't help you.

So what if you buy a Space Case from a shop that closed, or off eBay, etc? Where the hell do you go to get it serviced?

I'm surprised everybody who reviews the Space Case touts lifetime warranty, and yet, there is zero information on who to contact if the Space Case's o-ring comes loose or something. And according to Amazon reviews, it comes with no manual/warranty info. It's just the grinder itself.

  2. I guess you skimmed my post.

I already contacted them. They are licensed retailers, not the manufacturer.

  3. Oops, ya you're right.  Sorry about that.

Well, if you find yourself up shit creek without a paddle, you may be able to replace the rusty screw with a stainless version from a well stocked hardware store.  At least that's what I would attempt to do.

  4. You bought it from Amazon. Contact Amazon, they should ask you to return the one you have and offer a replacement or a refund.

  5.
Amazon is basically like eBay in a lot of ways in that you just buy it from a third party vendor. They're no more. So then who do you go to?

I'm extremely surprised a company that gets repped so hard, does not even have a website, nor does the grinder even come with any contact info/instructions. The lifetime warranty is BS if they deliberately refuse to release any way to get in touch with them.

  6.
It's a nail, not a screw. I don't think it's meant to be taken apart.

  7. I'll smoke dat rust 420 blaze it

You go to Amazon. I know how Amazon works, I've used Amazon for over 20 years. The 3rd party vendor means nothing. Contact Amazon about the order, tell them you can't contact the 3rd party seller because they no longer exist. Amazon will go from there with you.

Already did. They said in this case, I would have to contact the manufacturer directly for manufacturer warranty.

Problem being, Space Case does not allow you to contact them. I'm surprised they haven't been called out yet.

There are several other threads like mine if you search, all of them leading to a dead end.

Sorry to hear that, man. How long have you had it? Amazon says they will take care of things within 30 days. My bad, I thought you just ordered it.

  11. Oh no, that was something else. A cheaper grinder. That could be taken care of, because it's recent.
