Some questions from a newb

  1. After a traumatizing first time, I started smoking more often a few months ago and I'm glad af I gave it a second chance. It really did change something in my life, I became less antisocial, I feel more like going out than staying in home playing video games and I made some good friends that also happen to be stoners. But I still feel like it's not 100% for me and here's why:
     
    I'm a very lightweight person and I get drunk pretty fast. I noticed it also means I get more high than others. Usually I'm smoking a .3 joint with a mate and I'm always the one with the reddest eyes. I feel good but sometimes I can't keep it cool, I feel like not having a total control of my body and I have a tendency of saying some pretty dumb sh*t once in a while. There are times when I'm not even saying anything at all, I just can't think straight and keep a normal conversation. Also I'm paranoid as f*ck when high in public, feelin like everyone knows I'm high and can't act normal.
     
    I know I overthink sh*t but I can't stop feeling that way and it keeps me from enjoying being high with my squad. If anyone has any tips I'd be extremely glad

     
  2. smoke in a enjoyable environment, food can help reduce a high. not being able to hold a conversation and being paranoid are vary common and usually go away over time, and everyone says dumb shit when stoned. if something comes out wrong while your smoking just shrug and, be like damn im stoned and try again. also never feel like you have to smoke as much as another person, it's not a contest.
     
    also yes people know you are stoned when you go out in public but most people honestly don't care as long as your not bothering them with it
     
  3. I remember those days, having not done it long. If inside running to the window to look out every few minutes (or if I heard a noise).  It's normal....and the quality and type plays a big role in that as well.
    Being out in public...usually at the local hangout (bowling alley to shoot pool or play video games.) wondering if everyone could smell the aroma on me as strong as I could...blushing and keeping my head down lol what a joke we play on ourselves.
    You know you don't have to take another hit if you are already stoned.....something you learn years later.....noone wants to be the lightweight.
    Maybe a 80/20 Sativa/Indica like bedrock, as Indica is more an I don't want to move from this spot type of smoke.
    You could also take smaller hits as well.

    Try working out for at least an hour before smoking, you'll feel an incredible amount better. If you don't believe me, ill quickly say that working out helps level out your dopamine, and when your dopamine is levelled out, you will have a much more "enjoyable" high. I tend to find that doing this actually helps me be more social, and concentrate much better while high
     
    edit: eating a good nutritious meal 30-60 min before smoking helps a lot too.
     
  5. Try smoking alone. I had a lot of anxiety that caused me to be paranoid in public when I got high. Also, thinking someone else is less high doesn't mean they are less high then you.
     
    Louis CK did a pretty hilarious stand up that showcased the paranoia, insecurity and over-analyzing that came with inexperienced smokers. You can find it on Youtube. It helped me realize I wasn't the only one going through those stages of using cannabis.
     
    Anyways, smoking alone helped me because it really let me explore my high without interference. Which later helped me in social cannabis situations.

    Something that can make you feel more at ease is that youre not the only one who is like this. There are countless people like you who go a little bit over the top with how great being high is. You already know youre over thinking, there is your problem, oh and you get embarassed when you say stupid shit.
    It's not that hard to control, and if it is, it gets better with time, not with smoking a shit ton, but with months and months of being accustomed to the feeling of being high.
    You'll be fine man, you just got to get some more experience in you just like with everything you do. Plus when youre high saying stupid shit is not abnormal bud, youre high LOL. You just need to expand some footing over your words.
    Also no one cares if youre high or if you have red eyes as long as you can act like a regular dude.

  8. That was exactly like me, the first time I had my friends come over right after and my parents were home. I was paranoid and thought it wasn't for me. Than I gave it another try while I was out and didn't have to worry about being caught, I loved it ever since. If your having trouble in a pleasant environment just smoke less weed, maybe skip a round. Also as you smoke more and more you'll get more comfortable high and stop being paranoid or nervous
