Leaves fading to brownish color

  1. Growing in kelloggs organic soil, been feeding them a light (1/5) dose of Schultz 10-15-10 plant food plus. Two plants under 12 24 watt cfl 6500k bulbs. About 4-5 weeks in since seed, this is my first grow. I fed them too early at first causing the burn you might notice, backed off for a couple more weeks and started with the light dose of the food after the bottom fan leaves began to fade in color and then began to turn a spotty brownish color. It is more obvious on one plant than the other, but I can see that it's beggining to happen to both. One of the plants is in pretty bad shape, but my other one still looks healthy so I'd like to try and identify the deficiency or abundance before I lose them both. Thanks.

  2. did ur cat eat the top?

Kellogs soil is too rich for a young plant.

Some are saying they go right into but idk how..One post is saying he used a bag on 6 plants and it did fine.

the commonality is everyone has to cut the soil or "amend" it. Its just like fox farm, IMO good for a 4 month veg plant but not from seed

So to recap my thoughts get it out of the soil its in..
Save a cup of that stuff and add it to a ton of perlite and peat moss. Youll be amazed at how little one plant needs at this stage

  3. You'd be amazed at how hard it is to find potting soil, perlite, or peat moss without added compost or nutrients around here. I guess I'll just need to order my next soil online. Thanks for the input.

  4. maybe im mildly retarded but theres literally 50,000 hardware stores in america not including big chains like HD and lowes

And where im at theres a home depot or lowes or steins every 30 minutes.....

its hard to find peat moss.....no its hard to find vermiculite

  5. That's what I'm telling you dude both home depot and Lowe's only carry soil with nutrients. Because nobody around here knows how grow vegetables using added nutrients its all pre-mixed. Trust me man I've looked, down every single isle. Wal-Mart is almost exclusively miracle grow shit now and the best I could do at home depot was kelloggs
