Searching for Veterans using Medical MJ

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by lauriemasure, Apr 18, 2015.

  1. Please forgive me for not looking longer in the forum, but I am a disabled veteran and I'm hurting... I need my heating pad.

I've been using pot for several medical conditions that I'm permanently disabled for through the VA. I'm frustrated that I have to pay for this when my medical care is supposed to be 100% covered, and also because the banks here in Colorado, and I'm sure elsewhere, have refused to give legitimate medical mj businesses bank accounts - which means we have to pay cash. I am unable to get out on a regular basis, as I'm sure are others, and I tend to do all of my shopping in 'bulk' so to say. Credit has become my friend since I can't work.

My question is... if there's not already some kind of petition to get (at least) medical mj legal on the Federal level, how about we start one? I'm suggesting because I've no idea how to go about this, but I want to be involved... I just need help. Any takers?

  2. NORML is involved with multiple States as they transition to legal cannabis for those in need of cannabis. you could get involved with your local NORML.

thank you for your service as well, if anyone needs relief it will be you and those who risked health and life for the others in their country.

your concerns of money are the same with many people when the help is but a free seeded sprout away in some random dirt here on the viable planet for it to grow to maturity.

  3. Laurie...

Hoorah!  I haven't filed my VA yet...  I need to get off my ass, and get it done.

Even though Marijuana is legal in Colorado; there is a reluctance to open up about it.  Especially so when the Fascists and upset control freaks that lost on Amendment 64 just will not let it go.  As for obtaining the substance; it depends where you live in the State to find it easily.  If you want easier access... get into the College setting.

The VA will never pay for our weed...  so I suggest you learn how to grow it.

I do not have $250 invested in my set up... and it can be done by anyone willing to walk into a Lowes store.

Finding seeds shouldn't be too hard...  and most dispensaries and recreational stores in Colorado would probably be willing to give you some... and some tips on growing it.

  4. i am a 100% service connected disabled vet. i have my medical marijuana card and i too have to pay for the medical marijuana. honestly i am just happy that i can buy it the way that i can. i recommend you look into getting your social security disability as well. i have both and you would be surprised the kind of money they pay for both VA and SSI disability.

it is stupid easy to grow your own. even easier if you live in a state that allows you to grow it. if things are to expensive then you should be growing. egads you can make good money on the side, legally! getting medicated and some dollars in your pocket, seems like it is worth the time and money it would take to grow. it isn't as expensive as you would think to have a setup for just yourself to start. in the end you have enough to medicate any way you want.

i know that doesn't help in the short term. look up marijuana advocacy groups in your area, then go to their meetings and make connections. there are dispensaries out there that help people like us. you just need to get with the right people. a lot of dispensaries take pity on people like you and i as well so again you really need to get out and talk to people.

    good luck to you! [IMG]
