Hey so I was wandering, I know it's very hard to predict but what if we sided with the Germans in WWI, I mean we were neutral throughout most of the war. It's not like the Germans were the Nazi Empire at the time. Siding with them would prevent the rise of Hitler and maybe the fall of the Ottoman Empire(😀). Treaty of Versailles would never give its harsh treatment towards the Germans. I feel like it would be a win win, except maybe that we (USA) wouldn't be as good as ally's we are today with France and UK

  2. There would be sanctions against the US.

  3. That's may be.

  4. The US would essentially be a Canada. The US only became a world power due to WWII, and the only reason we went to Europe in WWII was to protect the UK and liberate France due to treaties we had signed at the end of WWI with UK and France. So, none of those treaties would have been made if we backed Germany in WWI. To top that off, since Canada backed the UK and the US backed Germany in WWI, there would likely be a lot of tension between US and Canada. We'd be worried about our northern border and likely have a big build up there. It could be like India/Pakistan. Who knows how far it would go?

The Soviets also wouldn't have become a world power as they were also reliant on WWII to thrust them into that role, and their build up was due to ours. Ditto for Japan. Like through most of European history, the main world powers would be Germany, France and the UK. Europe probably wouldn't be a very stable place since you'd have the 3 way tug of war. Africa and SE Asian colonization would have become even more rampant in the 20th century, instead of slowly dying away like it did after WWII.  Again, treaties. The Dutch would be a major economic power the world over.  Since the Soviets never became a major world power, communism would've been kind of a non-event and there likely wouldn't have been the revolutions in China, Korea, or Viet Nam. It's hard to say exactly how that would have effected Communism in latin america.

  5. you were wandering............... benefit of the doubt wondering is the wandering of thought. [IMG]

  6. What if Hitler was black?

  7. The royal navy probably would have sunk the majority of your forces as they sailed to europe.

  8.
That's a really good point. I wonder if this would've led to an invasion of the UK by the US. In that situation it might have been a good move to force the UK into fighting two fronts. It also makes me wonder if the Canadian Navy would've tried to stop them from leaving the US in the first place, or if they would've been coerced by the UK into invading the US to keep us occupied.

  9. The US military would never have made it across the atlantic without the help of the british. The royal navy would have obliterated your fleet at the time. The best they could have done to hinder the british is invade canada. An invasion of the UK would have been impossible.

  10. Wasn't the official language for the United States one vote away from being German instead of English just after the revolution?
A very good portion of settlers spoke German. So much that many federal laws were written in both English and German.

I found some sauce on this: http://www.english.illinois.edu/-people-/faculty/d...

Crazy to think how different the US would be; how different history would be, if it wasn't for that one vote.

  11. What if the world at that time was already well the control of the cabal/banksters?

Those mofos play world chess (using people as pawns) on a hundred year time line

They make money, we lose people needlessly
