So this is first time making brownies. I am going to make them using cannabutter and going to use Hashmouf's recipe.
I have a few questions before I start and was hoping you guys can help me with.

First one is what is a good bud to butter ratio? I heard 1/4 per stick but I have also heard alot of other ratios.

Second one, is it possible to get an ounce of trim inside of one batch of brownies and how would I go about doing that?

Lastly, Do I need to decarb the trim and if so at what temp and how long or do I just use the temp used to dercarb normal Bud?

Thanks for reading and for your insight

If your trim is sugar then standard ratio is 7g/stick, 1oz/lb. If it includes fan leaves then use more. If it's your first time, then I would stick with that and build from that in the future. You won't be able to cram an ounce of trim into a small enough amount of butter for a single batch, at least with any traditional methods and if you were able to do it, it would taste like crap. Unless you're making a huge batch, most brownies call for a half cup of butter/oil at the most so you'd have a problem getting all your potency in the brownies. To do that you would be better off using a concentrated form of cannabis like a hash oil or tincture to infuse the butter.

Yes, decarb just like bud, 220F for 30 minutes. [IMG]

  3. Good luck with your brownies.  One thing I like to do is water cure the bud I'm using for brownies.  Water curing makes for a smooth tasting butter without that green taste.  Last batch I made without water curing came out tasting so strong I gagged on them.  I had to put them in the blender and make a milkshake to get them down.

I like an ounce of bud to a cup of butter.  I don't know about how much trim and sugar leaf/popcorn buds ratio to butter.  The best cookies I ever made were from a bunch of trim and popcorn buds cooked in the crockpot with butter and water.  Those were some potent cookies.

Let us know how they turn out, please.

  4. Thanks for the info. I feel a lot better making them with the details cleared up.

Thank you. I will try that on my next batch. I will post back after I test them out!

  5. Get some cheese cloth and make a little burrito out of it to hold your weed all of it. If your brownies call for one stick of butter put 1 stick in a pot. Add a couple cups of water. throw in your cheese cloth burrito of weed and let simmer for 3+ hours. I have never decarb but I will try it out the next go around. After its simmered press out the cheese cloth to get all the butter out(press it in a strainer or mess kitchen strainer. Put the pot-o-butter in the fridge to cool.

  6. I find it's easier to make hash with the trim and then use the hash in your recipe
