  1. I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm in CO for the next week or two, hanging out with new friends and sampling what the state has to offer, before I speak on 4/20 at the High Times Cannabis Cup in Denver. I'm sitting on the Edibles panel in Forum Room One, at 1:30pm, with the author of the HT Cookbook, Elise McDonough.

If anyone wants to catch up, I'll be posting where you can find me after I've perused the venue and found all my favorite stalls and smoking stations, I'll also be spending time listening to several of the other speakers. Later on a few hours after I speak, we'll be hanging out with the guys from Broken Lizard at 4:20pm while they show a screening of their classic Super Troopers flick, and that night we'll be around while Snoop is doing his thing.  [IMG] I still have a few extra weekend passes to give away. I'll probably be posting more updates at the thread over in the edibles section here on GC and on the CannaPharm website during the next few days while I continue exploring, and sampling the city.

Check out my sweet ride while I'm in town, 420 friendly, courtesy of the very cool guys at iBAKEDenver and iBAKELimos, they had a sign with my name of it at the airport and everything. Plus they were stocked up with some good smoke for the drive to the hotel, and they prepared an awesome goodie bag. [IMG] I'll probably be at their Denver shop smoking with anyone who stops by, later in the week.

Anyway, just post here and let me know if you'll be in the area for the Cup, we'll have a puff at the expo, plus I've brought some hemp wick and a ton of oil/medible recipe cards to give away. [IMG] [IMG]

Big week ahead of me, back to medicating and resting up from the mini tour here... I've been in Maine, NY, Texas and CO since Thursday.  [IMG] [IMG]

  2. Breakfast... just sampling some of the shatter and edibles that folks have given me since I arrived, been sharing good smoke and stories with a lot of good new friends. :)

  3. Wow... I need to get better at life...

lol looks awesome, do your thing! :Bongin: [IMG]

I'm getting a lot of work done while I sample the local's wares, faded as I've ever been and enjoying the good company with a little herb and some other goodies. I've just posted a small selection from what all these cool cats had ready for me just on the first day I arrived, it's wild here.

If you guys ever get the chance, come to Denver, it's a weed mecca out here, the people are very welcoming and will gladly show you a great time. [IMG]

Another shot of my wheels during my stay, these guys have generously offered to sponsor all my transportation while I'm in Denver, some of the very coolest and nicest people you'll find here, educated and in touch with the area and the community. Their limos and their sweet rover come stocked with your choice of herbal, medicinal fun for the drive, hydration, they do everything from simple shuttle services, to airport pickups, to private transportation for just going out on the town with business acquaintances or friends. They've been one of my favorite parts of the trip so far, I can't recommend them enough.

  5. I'll be there on Sunday 4/19/15, moving from Texas to Colorado perm and pre purchased my ticket for sunday.

First time going to something like this, hopefully it'll be a blast. Do they allow smoking anywhere? Bring my own bud or will they be allowing dab samples, etc?

Not sure what to expect, figure I'd post here and figure it out from someone in the know.

  6. Recreational shops are having killer deals all over town already. No actual selling of cannabis is allowed at the venue, the current rumor is that the legality of free samples at the Cup is up in the air leaning towards the red, thanks to some sudden new elaboration on the rules... some vendors are considering waiting for better/legal clarification and may be going forward with offering the usual free samples as planned, but even if that went south, there are also 100% absolutely BYOB(ud) smoking stations at the event for adults 21+ from all regions, 18+ for local patients.

That means you can pick a shop in town, and bring your own selection just to make sure you have something to use in the smoking areas. Plus the local growers will be there in fairly high numbers and in reasonably high spirits, sharing and showing off their gear in the smoking areas, and a few of the vendors might send crews around as well, I would imagine they could circumvent the questionable rule by gifting in the designated areas... best to show up prepared though and not counting on freebies, that way you can be pleasantly surprised when they (hopefully, most likely) appear. :)

  7. Is that ganja sushi?

  8. Awesome. Keep it up BKS

  9. The sushi itself was not medicated, I gave the soy sauce a tincture boost. It seemed appropriate to order the hand rolled cones and medicate them on my first night in town. :)

Just quickly finished off another one of these before dinner arrives...

  10. hey! arriving tomorrow night! I actually just booked the Ibake car you're driving in after i saw this post for my airport pick up tomorrow night! I'll be at the cup as well in the VIP section! PM if you'd like to meet up, I'll be there representing my company

  11.

Is it to late to go?

  12. That's too cool, if you get to meet Thurlow (one of the owners) say hi, and tell him that Kat sent you, I'll be riding with them for most of my trip and Thurlow's a great guy. If you're new to the area he'll tell you anything you need to know. I'll be all over the Cup, and spending most of my time in the smoking areas. I might not do the VIP areas too much, just check them out and enjoy them for a quick minute, mainly I want to be able to spend time with everybody who's able to go, whether they could afford the golden tickets or not.

No way, plenty of time. I think only some of the VIP packages have sold out, I'm pretty sure there are general admission tix still available. :) One of the VIP packages just for the 3 days of the Cup, that sold out a few weeks back, cost the people who bought it around three times more than I've spent staying here for almost two weeks!
I'm able to be here thanks to some amazing people who sponsored my trip, we don't charge patients for meds, I'm pretty certain I'm the only speaker at the Cup who doesn't currently profit or even non-profit in some way from the community. It's something to be proud of but it didn't make getting here an easy task, I have a lot of people to be grateful for. [IMG]

This was my snack last night....

This is how easy it is to make medicated hot cocoa in a legal state, where you can pop into the store and grab what you need....

    How long is cannabis cup?

  14. Doohh, decided I had better things to do this 4/20 and then I saw the iBake stuff, I miss TL and LittleTree, been a few years and they are good peoples.
And those edibles... I better not go, I don't think I'll go back home.

  15. Bks' face!

Hello old friend, too bad I'm thousands of miles away. I'd love to personally thank you for all the information I've learned from you here.

    Hope all is well!

Had some travel trouble (put lightly) so I'm going to breathe, and keep going with my plans for the week, and just let whatever comes to be, happen. [IMG]
I'll be at iBAKE Denver either the 24th, or the 25th, to smoke with whoever wants to drop by. They aren't far from the Cup venue, I'll have signed recipe cards, free BeeLine, I want to make you guys happy and have a good time while I'm still here. [IMG]

So awesome to see you again Shel, it's been ages, I've missed you guys. [IMG]  When things calm down, I want to try and spend a little more time on GC again. Kind of stranded in Denver right now thanks to Travelocity, they were supposed to set up my flight and hotel departure for the 26th, turns out my flight left yesterday and my hotel is just set for the 26th. Cool eh'?

Just wanted to update you guys quickly on how the Cup went.. and well. It went awesomely, of course. [IMG]

I think this might be my favorite group shot of us, except that I just wish we'd had Elise in frame!

Sooo tired. [IMG] Denver, you wear me out. So, Cup recap! I had a wonderful, magical time at the HT Cup itself, but I think that maybe the best part was meeting and talking with new friends, some were actually old friends in a way and have been following along here for years, I even met people who remembered me from Overgrow and my earlier yahoo days, and I met so many people who have been through this thread, and they have it memorized and it's changed their lives, it was just so humbling, but such a warm feeling being surrounded by all these wonderful people who were familiar with the work.

Sometime this weekend I'll be inviting everyone who's still in town and would like to visit for a smoke, to come down to the iBake Denver location. Completely legal social smoking club (anyone can become a member, for a tenner  [IMG] ).

I was at the Awards Ceremony, Saturday night, aka "night of the busted shoe". I jumped up to try and snag some footage of the country's longest serving pot prisoner, and ended up stepping on the strap of the platform flip flops that, for over ten years, have made me look of average height around short people... and it broke. I tried to use BeeLine to save the day, but wound up walking barefoot through the mart, luckily that was the end of the evening. I was right in the room and I didn't catch a single winner. Too busy sitting in back and having one of the better first-conversations I've had with a new friend in a long while, I'm pretty bummed he had to take off before the end of the Cup.

Speaking on the Edibles panel started out a little shaky, we were maybe ten or twenty minutes late getting to the venue and the panel had already begun, so when I hopped on stage, I was still a little uneasy and a bit woozy from the drive. I'm not normally all that talkative in person as it is, not quite as much as the other panelists who were all so experienced, and had their notes all prepared... I showed up empty handed, I had meant to maybe make some notes, collect thoughts, but between being so busy and a bit under the weather most days I didn't even have time (or more likely, the good sense [IMG] ) to find a notebook in town. I was so fortunate to be sitting with such a well spoken and insightful group, and Elise really takes charge and knows how to keep the flow going! I think that, not only did we all offer very good info, but we also really entertained a lot of people, which is important when you're trying to encourage the retention of that info.

After I warmed up a little though, things really went spectacularly well, and I just couldn't believe how many people had questions for me during the final Q & A, it was just wild!

Towards the end, sometime around the last question or so during the panel itself, Tim McDowell (of MarQaha, such a very lovely, and friendly man,  he really helped put me at ease when I got on the panel a bit late) handed me the mic again, before the next person in line could start to ask their question, laughing a little, and whispered, "Here, this one's probably for you too". [IMG] I come from a quiet place, and the Cup, the visitors and and the whole panel experience, it was all just so humbling and at the same time so exciting, and fun!

After the panel was over and they started clearing people out, I still ended up talking to a bunch of visitors and answering questions, so many, that I had to just sit back down in my panel chair, and I kept going with them for another ten or fifteen minutes even while the next panel or presentation was being prepped. I am so fortunate to have had someone with me by then, who had spent a lot of time reading the things I've written and posted online over the years, and practicing. By the end when I was getting a little tired, and feeling ready to wander off to medicate for about the first time that day, so I partially-deferred one of my last questions to the nice fellow who was accompanying me. He made the whole trip the good experience that it was, I still can't thank him enough. [IMG] People really came out from all over the place to visit with me, it's been such a special experience.

Alfred the limo driver, picking me up at the Radisson, to head out for the Cup!

You have to go to a Cup if you ever get the opportunity. Don't listen to the tiny sprinklings of negativity.. whenever you hear that someone couldn't make a fun time for himself at a #HIGHTIMES #CannabisCup, that is a darn personal problem! User error. [IMG]
Healthy people, especially, should be having a blast. If someone's well, and likes weed, and they aren't having fun at a Cup or a cannabis heavy event, HT or otherwise? They must live a privileged life, indeed.  I've lived and slept in warehouses full of the stuff and still had SO much fun this weekend, to think it's not a big deal what we can do together today, or that it wasn't enjoyable in some way, shape or form, is a level of privilege I'll never grasp.

If you're reasonably healthy, never take it for granted, and get out and enjoy events like these while you can, I'm wishing I didn't spend so many of my younger years hiding in a room or lab or grow shed, away from people and the community. Patients don't always have it as easy at events, it's why I bought and host the 30ft, enclosed, climate controlled tent, instead of a car last year. I weighed my options, figured that I don't go out often enough to risk investing in a third useless lemon, that legally can't be driven in that state, so I got the tent instead. You guys do mean a lot to me. [IMG]

We cool the tent in the summer, and heat it in autumn for the last fests of the year at our expense, just to help shelter patients from the elements of the particular season and let them be comfortable while medicating.

It's allowed people to attend events, and be with their peers, when they otherwise may have had to stay home, or way out in parking lots in their personal vehicles.

But I digress, back to the Cup, I was told I would be in a chair or with hip replacements by now a few years back myself, and while there was only little seating in some areas and I barely made it around to all the booths (I didn't see them all to be honest), I still had my butt on the ground, smoking fat doobies, just having a grand old time!

So don't believe the party poopers, the rain paraders, the, uh... the hairs, in your dab.

Back to the panel, I was so jealous of one of the other speakers, she managed to have her whole eight or ten person crew in the room to support her, it made me so sad that I couldn't get just my partner/cg over to help with necessities after I've been in bed the last year, and to watch my first big Cup experience. I'm hoping he'll be able to come with me next time, you know, just to help improve the international presence.. let's see more long haired, Australian, death metal hippies at the Cups! [IMG]

Oh, and after the panel was over, we were walking out of the building to check out the vendors, by this point I'd already been approached a few more times on our way out for questions, so when someone said my name, I was getting into the groove and ready to help.

But instead, next thing I knew, I had another speaking gig this time at a large east coast convention, and that's what the question was about... I think they said that they'd been in the room for the panel. The two things combined (the speaking offer, after watching the panel), sort of make me feel like I didn't make too much of an awkward fool of myself, up there... [IMG]

And how can you throw a ton of joints to a thousand or so passionate stoners, and then expect them not to all clam bake that room... or hotbox it, or whatever the kids are calling what I used to do in a tent in my livingroom with the air vents duct-taped up when I was a kid. [IMG]

    Before the Awards Ceremony....

After the Awards Ceremony, maybe 90 minutes later.... keep in mind I haven't moved further back to put more smoke between us, the first shot was just zoomed in, this is after people stopped smoking and started filing out. Ah, the difference an hour and a half can make.  [IMG]

The guys from Broken Lizard (Jay was absent, think he had to go back to CA for an emergency) shared a screening of Super Troopers, that went much the same way....  I managed to get quite a bit of their Q & A on film before my battery died, I'll drop some pics below. [IMG]

    \n(From my FB)
\n‪#‎BROKENLIZARD‬ ! ! I love these guys, it was a great Q & A, super funny dudes, just loved it, one of the highlights of my trip. [IMG] That they have to go to so much effort, to convince the suits they should be able to produce a sequel to Super Troopers, is just a crime.

We were waiting in the original performance area for BL/ST, but they'd been switched to another room, so we were a few mins late. Luckily they were having trouble with sound in the new room, so nothing had happened yet.

I was all the way in the back at first,  then I crept up one side of the wall, for a closer view as things got started. By then I was on my own, a few minutes later I noticed a rare empty seat, in row 3. I snagged it, and spent the next hour and a half or so in a hazy room watching one of the rare movies that I enjoy to such a great extent. So there, ‪#‎Fox‬, put that in your pipe and smoke it. These guys will put butts in seats, even if those derrieres haven't been to a theater in 10 years. I've seen a Batman movie and the LOTR trilogy in theaters in recent years, but I'll go support ST2 any day of the week.

The guys weren't supposed to do their Q & A until the end, but, technical difficulties.

They had given me a VIP & Media pass, so I filmed a little from the side then took a seat up front to catch the end of the pre Q&A before the movie started. And then my battery died before the end. [IMG] They gave the guys the same forum room I had my panel in a few hours earlier, Paul/Foster has my mic... *swoon* haha  [IMG] But still, kind of neat. [IMG]

And then the lights dimmed, and the movie began....

Once the movie started a few people got up, and left, a lot were there just to see the guys and probably didn't know they'd be back, but I was up for showing my support. I could use an hour or two in  darkened room with a bunch of fellow stoners, I thought to myself. A few seats freed up in the second row, and I popped up there from the third, before people could start coming back towards the end. [IMG]

Best story during the BL/ST session:

While I was in the second row during the Super Troopers screening, a real cop poked his head in (they'd been around all day on and off), you couldn't see the back of the room for the haze... keep in mind there was 'no smoking' indoors... and he just kept walking.

Colorado has been very fun. [IMG]
