HELP With THC percentages

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by CSCC, Apr 14, 2015.

  1. I am trying to make some muscle salve, and Im confused by the idea of using my oil in reference to a "percentage"

I've done my research with some of the popular companies and it looks like the actual oil they use is around "30% THC." How does one come to this percentage? Is it taken by MG of THC compared to oil in weight? Say, if I had 150 mg of oil, would my percentage be 50% THC? My coconut oil has approx 75 MG of THC per teaspoon.

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this for some reason. Anyone make topicals and have an idea of MG per application that actually works for pain relief? Any help is super appreciated!

75 mg of pure THC dissolved in 150 mg of oil would be 50% concentration.  I think you need the WEIGHT of what you know contains 75 mg of THC.  For example, if a teaspoon of your oil weighs 200 mg, then the % is 75/200 = 37.5%
