Does the quality of butane that you put into your torch matter or is it just when you're using it to make concentrates? Also what is the difference between using a butane torch and one of those big blue propane tanks? Trying to figure out if I should be spending the money on the puretane or not
Quality of the butane only really matters when your making oils , the temperature burns hot enough to burn the other contents that come in it . Refined 5x and up is best calibre and vortex are good brands . Different butane brands burn slightly different but its not enough to make a difference . Also a cigar lighter has more features and is adjustable and has safety features . The big blue tank burns hotter so it lights up your nail faster but thats really all . I dont reccomend it though , i had a friend who left their butane tank opened for the whole night and the whole house smelled like butane , they where about to spark up but then my other friend came through and had smelled it right before they where fonna smoke . Using a butane torch with 5x gas should be perfect for taking dabs . Anymore and its unneeded for dabbing .
Yup. I don't know how, but my cheap torches get f'd up quick if i use cheap fuel. You'd think everything would burn off, but no. They just burn dirty, and leave dirt behind on the head. It's pretty obvious when I use cheap fuel. And it has a smell when you put it in, that one was new, I had never "smelled" butane before. They put shit into it just like propane.
crappy butane will mess with any torch, as it leaves impurities and whatever other agents that are in there. i kept burning out torches until i realized it was the 99¢ store gas i was putting in them. spend a little extra and get the refined stuff. also propane burns hotter so it may mess with your nails and such faster than with butane.
