So, I harvested my first crop recently, I have a problem....

  1. So, as you can tell from the title i recently harvested my very first plant from my very first cannabis grow, which you can find in my signature. I grew this plant in a PC case, and using 12/12 from seed. Another important thing is that i grew WITHOUT any nutrients what so ever. Just water. Not even Ph'd water at that.

When i started growing I knew what pH balancing was and i knew what nutrient fertilizers were, but since it was a cheapo first grow, i thought it wouldn't really matter, just 3-7 grams of solid bud seemed like a reasonable estimate. Right?

WRONG. Very wrong. My final harvest was somewhere between .35 - .21 grams.LESS THAN HALF A GRAM. Now it was a first grow and it was 12/12 from seed. In total the grow from seed to weed was 3 months. But half a gram? no no no. That was a serious disappointment that i blameon my own stupidity of not using nutrients.

Now here is the real kicker. After drying and curing for a few days i couldn't resist the temptation and i clipped a small portion from the bud and stuck it in my piece.

After a bong "rip" , more like sip actually, I sat back and waited for the high to kick in. After about 45 seconds, i realized something was very wrong. The usual floaty feeling was not there. My eyesight had not changed. Nor had anything else for that matter. Long story short i smoked all the bud, and not even a faint buzz was felt.

So my question is, can you actually grow a plant that doesn't have any thc, if you grow it poorly? I mean i know about airy bud and low yields, but NO THC?

I considered the grow a mild success when i began drying, even though i knew it was a small yield, but after the no high thing, nah i don't go like that. This grow was utterly pathetic.

  2. Looked over your journal, and man, I don't want to be mean, but that's what you get with a half-assed soil. Pushing them straight to flowering only made it worse. Patience will take you a long way in growing.

Seemed like you put a lot of work just into the cab itself, but the lighting and especially the soil are absolutely essential if you want to grow anything at all. I would say go back and do some more reading into the growing style of your choice and get a soil dialed in before popping any more beans.

You'll only ever get out of it what you put into it.

  3. While there are cannabis strains with very little THC, what most likely occurred is that you harvested too early and did not give the trichomes a chance to mature.

Your seedlings were also never given a vegetative period of at least 16 hours of light per day. Looks like you kind of rushed flowering and harvesting without understanding the basics of encouraging trichrome productivity. Also, bear in mind, when using CFLs, trichome maturation can take longer than the listed by the seed breeder. CFLs do work, but the light spectrum and intensity is slightly lacking compared to LEDs and halides. Thus you would need to wait longer for the trichomes to mature to the right balance of amber and milky colors depending on whether you need more THC or develop a little more CBD and mycene for pain relief. You likely harvested when the trichomes on the buds were clear and immature.

  4.
Absolutley correct. And hey we are here to learn, so none taken. But, fortunetly, I still got some seeds that i plan to use for take two in the fall after summer. Can't start now becuase I usually travel during the summer. But, ya i couldn't really say it better myself. Hopefully my next soil will be better.

Heh, ya that too, supposedly i harvested 2-3 weeks too early and i just have myself to blame. Thanks for the input guys!

  5. Good attitude. My recommendation would be to hang out in the organic forum here, read some of the stickies (especially on no-till and general soil recipes), and go from there. The stuff I've learned around there has made growing such a breeze and overall such a pleasure that I really can't recommend it highly enough.

  6.  I got you bro. Check out the journal for more.

  7. Bruh....
    Omg bruh....

  8. No but seriously fuck it. I would call that a success. Did it grow buds? Yesss! So dont worry about not getting a buzz this time atleast you know what you did wrong and know what to do right next time.

  9. why wouldnt it have THC? its just a plant that was grown nowhere near its full potential.

not sure what you were expecting from a PC case..

  10. Sounds like you could use some patience. Straight to 12/12, early harvest. Sit back and relax, yes its nice to get product faster, but not at the expense of quality. You can't expect much from a PC grow anyways, so grow the best you can with what little you'll have. No rushing ...good luck and more patience next time man

  11. It you sampled it wet it will not have much buzz.

It was not the big hog sticky stinky donkey dick but it was a bud.

Someday you will have space or better yet a good outdoor grow where you can grow a fucking tree and get over a pound dry.

It was a lesson, the education you got was priceless. Dont sweat nutes and PH and all that shit. I grew 30 years before getting a ph meter and now I grow hydro and have not touched the PH meter in months.

Some organic soil and a fem autoflower seed and you can try again with almost nothing to do but wait.

  12. Thanks everyone for the support. [IMG]  I guess your right, yield or no yield i did learn more. :)
