Ok so the day has finally come after several years of sitting on the fence and getting mixed quality weed i have decided to grow my own For my first grow i will be planting 6 seeds of two different auto fem seed types 3 Think different seeds 3 Amnesia Haze seeds The plan at the minute is to use a 600w HPS lighting system with a view to possibly getting another light soon depending on how big the plants go too I will be using Plagron terra nutes and additives so any feedback on the seed type and Plagron terra i would welcome. Its my first grow so i am excited but also nervous as looking at the yield amounts i could have possible planted far too much than i could possibly smoke or store haha but that's should everything go to plan but i doubt for a first grow they will So at 6pm local time today the seeds went into a dark container with wet kitchen towel paper and were covered over in darkness. I will check before i go to bed this evening and again in the morning to ensure the paper is still moist. I do not have a grow tent yet but i will invest in one in 2/3weeks but for now they will be in a tempature controlled room with a fan, heater and thermostat The think different should be ready to harvest in 8-10 weeks but the amnesia haze im told will take allot longer so my grow will happen in stages all going well. Subbed man, have a years experience of growing mostly autos if you need help. Oh ignore harvest times from the breeders packaging they are never correct.

Yes beautiful it can be, the seed choosing is the best part I feel as in what you gonna grow each time you start a new grow. You UK or stateside? Get a test asap and extractor/carbon filter.
im uk based by test you mean a soil tester? i plan to get a filter and fan with the tent, i dont think i will have too much problems with smell until the second phase but i am open to correction on that :/
Sorry get a tent asap, just had a smoke typing not great at this time of night. With autos your get a plant sort of smell about 25 days into the grow, then give or take a few weeks into flower they will start to stink depends on strains your growing. Between roughly 25 to 30 days from seed popping soil is when autos go into flower.
cool thanks for the advise, quick question as i was just reading your last journal. Do you let them flower for log or do you usually cut the time shorter and harvest? Actually another question too while im at it. Somebody replied above regarding the THC contents am i to treat the advertised THC content with a pinch of salt? or was the comment based on my setup of growing?
It's best not to rush them, most of the autos I've grown have always gonna to about 9 to 10 weeks flowering. If you have no rush to finish a grow don't harvest early, plus if you harvest early your get less weight if say you wait a few weeks longer. What size pots are you using? I've found the THC to be fairly correct to whats usually advertised, but less you get some lab guy to test your next gonna know true THC strength from what you grow. Also depends on your lights and what your growing in, plus nutes your using. Not sure what OG was going on about really.
ok so ive just checked the seeds and it looks like 2 have start to grow a root but i wanted to confirm when you plant them in soil it obviously root down into the soil right? not root towards the light? as im certain i seen an image telling people to plant root facing towards the light but that cant be right :/ with regards to pots i am using small pots to start with but i might change them to larger pots as ive read that the amnesia haze autos grow to big plants and can take quite some time.... i really didnt plan that well at all but by my planning id say id have the think different plants possibly curing by the time the amnesia haze starts to flower all going ok
Yep I've seen guides saying put the seeds facing towards the light too, but I've just dropped them in the soil if you touch them too much your tap root ends up breaking off from the seed. But only put the seed the very swallow under the soil, about 5mm deep and cover with soil. A very small drop of water on the soil if your soil is dry. With autos it best put them in the main big pot you plan to grow them in and not repot them halfway through your grow. As if you report autos mid grow it stresses them out big time. I think both your two strains will grow at the same rate, but I maybe wrong on that not grow either of your strains in the past. But when I've grow x2 different strains side by side they both seem to grow and be ready at roughly the same time give or take a few days.
thanks man ill buy bigger pots tomorrow just hope my light arrives tomorrow as id say some of these seeds will be good too go soon. any advice on the soil will i, use my nutes from the start or wait a week or two, ive read you should wait until the first few proper leaves show
I swear by john innes no2 potting soil, but everyone has there views on what soil to you use. You can get john innes soil at most garden centres for about £3.50 a bag for 20litres. If you can get your pots from a hydro store, will only be a few quid but they will be square ones that are better when in your tent.
I have a small bag of 13ltrs John innes seed sowing soil not sure if it's any use tho. I'm still a little confused about if ill need nutes with the soil or let the soil do its thing for a short period of time
That john innes maybe ok but don't quote me on that, but there are other types that have no1, no2 and no3 on the bags all usually 20 or 25litre. Basically you won't need to feed you autos till about 20 days of them popping soil, you will just water them roughly ever 4 or 5 days with plain water. As for the nutes you have I have no idea what kind they are, did you get them from a grow shop?
Yup got them from a grow shop he asked me if I wanted organic or yielding so naturally I picked yielding. I'll post a picture of the shedule as there are 5 different types of liquids for the various different types of stages etc
Yep just looked them up, I would try and keep it simple as its your first grow. Just use the Terra Grow & Terra Bloom, as the other stuff I have no idea what it is or does. Basically your only start of using 1ml of terra grow mixed with water. Do not follow the shedule too closely, always use half or quarter of the stated amount to start with. Some plants don't like lots of nutes and then your fine some plant love the nutes.
Ok a quick check on the seeds there and 4 out of the 6 have popped. 2 of which have popped a decent amount they should be ready to plant in the morning... my problem is my light has not arrived and is in transit with the courier so I am wondering is there a light or lamp I could bug in b&q or home base that would help enough just to trick the plants until my main light setup is delivered I'd say a day or two maximum.... Or would they be ok to plant in soil without the light setup for a day or two?
