Plant too big. Not enough light. Prune? Pic attached

My plant is just getting too big for the small space and lighting setup I have.  The setup can't change so I need to consider trimming up my plant.  Quick facts:

    10 days into flowering
    indica
    28" Tall.
    5 gallon pot
    CFL Lights.

My concern is that there is not enough light penetrating to the middle or lower branches.  I have topped a few times so my focus is growing the top colas.  Should I clean up the lower areas of the plant so the nutrients and light only need to focus on the top colas?  Or does it not matter?

I don't mind having a bunch of popcorn buds from the lower branches.  But I do mind if its going to be detrimental to the top colas.

    Opinion?

How many actual watts of your cfls? Not equivalent. How many bulbs? What's the kelvin rating on your bulbs? 2700k for flower

  3. 2700k, 13W, 6 total.

  4. Some more light wouldn't hurt. General rule of thumb is 100 actual watts for 1 plant. Leaves are the power plant, try not pruning them. Have you considered LST ( low stress training? And tucking the leaves to bring the bud sites out in the open more?

  5. also tie down some of the stems (plenty LST guides on forum)
