How much to fill bong?

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by Domodragon, Apr 10, 2015.

  1. So i just bought my first scientific bong, it was 3 honeycomb percs, and one perc i dont quite know the name of (check pictures, if you know the name, let me know) anyways, when i fill it up, how much water should i put? because i figured i should fill the perc (that i dont know the name of) up about half way, but then the water is super high and close to the slide, on the downstem. Am i filling it wrong? or too much? please let me know. you can see the water is pretty close to the bowl, in the downstem, should i have it higher? lower? thank you in advance for answers

  2. how much did you pay for that bong? it's not an authentic roor just in case you aren't already informed.
and the water levels, i couldn't even say myself. i would put water in all the honeycombs (hard to control the amount, so just give them water :p) and fill the matrixy looking thing on top either 3/4 of the way covered in water, or just enough to cover all the holes.

  3. I really hope you didn't pay to much for that. What an odd set up. I think the way you have it filled is about right. When u hit it that water will suck down into the tube away from the bowl. How is the drag?

  5. I didnt pay much, 55. And the glass is super thick, i knew when i bought it wasnt a real roor but 55 seemed more than fair. The drag is just about perfect, i actually love the bong a lot i just didnt know how much to fill it haha.

  6. That's pretty awesome. 55 is a real good price for that. I think the water level should be half inch maybe for each honey comb. And then just to the top of the slits on the matrix perc.

  7. I would fill the honeycomb part up a little less. I have a triple honeycomb and I usually fill it to a little below the second disk

  8. Each piece is always unique and really depends on the different constrictions within the pieces, such as the joint size and the the ice pinch sizes and percolator sizes. I would say you just really have to play with the water level until you find a place where it doesn't plash in your mouth but it does bubble super well!!!
Good looks on your new piece homie!!

  9. We almost have the same piece. Mine just doesn't have the top perc, it has the roor logo on the bowl and the down stem tube and looks a little thicker but not by much. Is yours a 18" 7mm? Does anyone know why mine says roor tech and his just says roor? ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1428700409.548120.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1428700424.440256.jpg

  11. Wow 4 percs!  Don't think I have seen that before.

  12. Roor is German, root tech is the American producers of roor

  13. Probably because they were made by two different counterfitters.
Also as to OP's question about water levels I know for most several honeycomb set ups you want to put water in so it just covers the first perc and then as you pull it the water should be dragged through the other percs, but each piece is different so I would suggest just playing with it until you get it right. Also as for the unkown perc I believe that is a tire perc
