Hello all. I'm on my third harvest and still working things out. I have two identical tents 4x4x7 with Advanced LED Diamond Series XML 350's in them. It's supposed to be equivelent to a 600w HPS. More on these latter. I decided to grow one big plant in each tent instead of many little plants. I got them in 45 gallon smart pots. The central a/c keeps the temp at a consistent 75 degrees. The exhaust fans suck the tent into a concave shape. Don't know if this is a problem.

1st harvest- First time around I put one big bag of Miracle Gro potting soil, one small bag of manuer, and one small bag of compost. Not to mention bags of live earth worms (who all died). This filled the entire pot and like a dumb ass I didn't age the soil or put in lime. The result were two plants that got about three feet high and yeilded 4 oz each. I feel now this wasn't a good yeild for the space and effort but at the time I was stoked with eight oz from the first attempt. These plants had nitrogen burn thier entore life cycle and I know now they were stunted.

2nd harvest- thought the soil would be cured at this point and just dropped fresh seeds in the old soil. Terrible idea. This 2nd harvest yeilded about a combined 3 oz [IMG]

3rd harvest- This time around I went with 2 big bags of something called "potting soil" with no nutes in it. BOY was the first batch stunted. This time they have grown up to the top of the tent and past the lights and up against the edges of the tent. ANd i only veged for three weeks. Only problem is the bud sights are nowhere near as dense or plentiful as the first grow. SO around the end of the first month I started adding Miracle Grow at the recomended dosage for indoor plants at twice the fequency on the box. This has boosted bud growth a little bit but it still is nowhere near the bud on the first stunted plants. I'm a month and a 1/2 into flowering and only the top collas have any bud at all and there is no bud what so ever on the bottom branches. Though this may be due to increased canopy over the first grow.

SO where im at now is im deffinatly changing my soil mix. I think everything else fine. I may be crazy but I swear the lights aren't as bright anymore, may be my imagination. Do LED degrade over time? Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

Pic's would go a long way my friend. Also, stop using miracle grow :) I suggest mixing some organic soil up man. There's some threads on here that'll really help ya there. I'm sure they degrade over time but not very fast I'd think.

  3. Camera broke and you can't turn off the gps on my shitty phone.

  4. for the kind of growing you are doing, about 4 oz per plant is about right. Sounds like you have a great setup. I think over time with just the common sense you were born with you will come up with improvements from what you are doing now.

  5. I'm on my first grow right now. I've tried to keep it simple. I had an organic soil mix made for me and used no notes till about 3w of veg. Ran general hydro line but only for veg. I also was delayed getting my hps and hood for about a month. So they veged for Jan.25-mar.26 I've switched to bat quano and mollases now after flushing on mar 24. I'm on day 14 of flower with my two plants I figure I'll get 6 a piece maybe more. Hopefully 1000whps flw. 1000wmh veg. 2 plants 15g pots 4'11 ceiling so they are short and bushy as fuck. It took so much twine to keep them tied down.

  6. So 4 oz isn't bad out of a 45gal pot?

  7. figure about 1 oz per plant if left to grow naturally. So you could do a 4 plant sog in a 45 gallon pot yielding 4 oz total. Or you can use a technique, either no cut lst or mainlining to get 4 oz from one plant. But those techniques will cost you time. But since you have a veg room and a flower room, time is of no consequence.
