Hey guys.. could really use some help.

    #1
    Super Silver Haze
    Age: 3 weeks
Roots out of bottom?: No, thus haven't transplanted yet
    Soil: FFOF + Perlite
    CaMG Supplement?: Yes
    Temps: Flux between 75-85
Humidity: 35% (may be culprit) Edit: Just added humidifier.
Watering: every other day pending soil moistness 6.5ph w CaMG Supp
    Identification: Nitro def, nuteburn,
Problem: Not sure why she's still weeping and looking sad, not sure how to control nitrogen in FFOF.

    Setup 2:

    #2
    White Widow
    Age: 2 weeks
    Roots out of bottom?: No
    Soil: FFOF + Perlite
    CaMG Supplement?: Yes
    Temps: Flux between 75-85
Humidity: 35% (may be culprit) : Just added humidifier
Watering: every other day pending soil moistness 6.5ph w CaMG Supp
Identification: CaMG def which has now been corrected
Problem: Stunted and still not sure what dark brown spots in middle are.

Other thoughts: Not sue if over watering, so going to leave her for 3 days and see if she perks up. Otherwise, will try flushing after 3 days. If no good, will attempt H202 Method for root rot or pick up Botanicare Hydroguard.

Any help/feedback would be appreciated mates, thanks!

  2. before you add the hydrogen peroxide, let her dry up until you see the dirt start to pull away from the sides of the cup. obviously not too long but when the dirt is dry, it will be very easy to pull it out of the cup without damaging the roots to check for brown or yellowing. I got some clones in solo cups once, and had problems with root rot.

it is either that, or your ph is screwed up from adding calmag. you want a ratio or 7 calcium to 1 magnesium. adding too much calcium or magnesium can cause lockout of other nutrients as well as a too low or too high ph.

when using FFOF, the soil can get pretty compact so I like to add lots of perlite. then I just water her during veg and don't add anything. FFOF has lots of calcium from the fish based ingredients like oyster shell powder and comes ph'd to 6.5. with a healthy soil life (no synthetics like calmag/nitrates) you shouldn't have much problems in this soil. if you want to use FFOF, just water it and give it a compost tea once in a while, you'll be amazed on how easy it gets. I use it for veg when they're small and I half it with peat too and don't have issues. I would try and flush out that calmag nitrates and see if that helps. you can also do a slurry test to check ph. soil is pretty forgiving so I think it's too much calcium.
