Us old farts should stick together

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by Deleted member 616232, Apr 8, 2015.

  1. I really enjoyed that thread that talked about us grandparents that smoke.

I'm just wondering how many of the older crowd is really here, Those of use who grew up in the Woodstock years, please chime in. You know, when lids were $10 and full of seeds?

  2. I remember carding those seeds out.  I didn't even know about smoking flowers.  Remember matchboxes?
I would not have believed then that cannabis would ever be legal.  I'm 62 and started smoking in 1968.

Hey, don't you know me Chef? I'm 70 and have been using Cannabis for 57 years.

Too bad you're not a Seasoned Toker.

I hope everyone understands this is for Seasoned Tokers to respond to. By seasoned tokers I mean if you are over 40 and have been using Cannabis for at least 20 years.

If  you aren't, don't post as I will remove your reply.

  4. This thread makes me feel young - thanks!   [IMG]

  5. I am so ready to give up the "old guy in the City" label. Are you older?

  6.
Depends what you mean by "older", dude.  In this thread, I'm a young man, but when I post in places like "post your thoughts", I feel like grandpa, haha.

    I'm 40, btw.

    Wanta trade ages?
    I wouldn't mind being 40 again.

  8. Some of your posts depict you as half that age...

  9.
Why thanks, being 'youthful' is my secret to immortality!

No thanks, Graybeard - maybe next time around?

  14. Hi!! I am happy to be the young one here. 42 and smoking for 31 years!!!
First it was fun, now it's medical. Times change huh?
I remember making pipes out of "lamp parts". And when the local record store sold plastic bongs.

    As you should.
You were five when I took my first hit.
    Five months that is.

Did anyone else carry around a triple-beam scale, with the slides, to weigh their shit?

  16. Actually found a scale like that in a box in the garage, last month, with other mementos from the 70's. :smoke:

There are days when you have to go check your pants after you sneeze. There are days when you can't fart with any confidence. There are days when you can't fart at all. There are days when the hipster crowd look at you through craft ale eyes and think you're a cop. There are days when they give you the senior discount without even asking. There are days when parts of you hurt where you didn't even know you had parts. There are days when the medical community wants to stick things in every opening in your body.

But today is not that day.
    (I'm Fifty-Freekin-Five)

EDIT: Dunno if that has anything to do with this thread. Just wanted to get it off my chest.

I'd get stoned with friends in college (in the '90s), and we'd buy a bag, pick out the seeds and stems, roll what was left, and sit around grinning at each other and watching Yellow Submarine.

I've just come back to cannabis, after getting sick, a few months ago, and now there's an entire new vocabulary and tools and you need to do research and calculus and earn an advanced degree just to figure out how to get high the way kids do now.  It's all just so... sci fi and weird to me.  I may be young in this particular thread, but am I too old to get the appeal of concentrates?

(I mean, don't get me wrong, I just bought a vape and think it's the best toy ever, but still - why would you smoke something called errl when there are gorgeous flowers to be had?)

  19. 49 in aug. Yeah man, i rem the old album cover and card an seeds all over the place. Female flowers without seeds were hard to come by when i was a wee toker. Good stuff was around tho. Def old school here. Gimme a pipe an a bud an im good. You can have your shatter, vape, or whatever. Just like plain simple smokin.

  20. I started smoking in 1966....at the ripe old age of 15....yeah, I'm 64.....still feel like a kid tho...

We used to get lids of leafy shake for $15 or 2 for $25...it was as much as could be crammed into a sandwich bag and still be folded over..

    Wouldn't get a fly high either.....[IMG]
