So I've been advised by several users in here to go for the scrog with my 9 BB cheese
Tonight I made and installed the net, looks like I may have issues reach the centre plants for pruning is this going to be a issue ?
    Any advice?

  2. Damn, it does look like you're gonna have a problem getting to the middle plant for sure, not to mention those in the back!

Why not remove the big SCROG net, and replace it with individual units?
Might be a challenge to pull that off, especially if you end up with some variation in those Cheese phonos.

Wish I could drum up some more logical advice for you, but I'm tapped out that quick bro!

    Good luck

  3. How much did you spend building your scrog?

  4. Around £15

  5. You have done a nice job making the screen so you may not want to hear this but my advice is to remove the screen for this one. Your plants are very uniform and look great, they will have that area filled out in no time without the screen.

I'm a huge advocate of ScrOG but I think it will bring you more problems than it solved in your current set up. Having different plants locked in to the screen can be a pain when they stretch at different rates. If the are separate you can LST or move the taller ones to the border.

watering just a few pots under a full screen can be a pain, I wouldn't want to have to do 9.. If I were you I'd leave out the screen on this one, perhaps take some clones, pick your best plant and use the clone to grow one big plant, in a huge pot, or maybe a few of the same clones. At least then you know growth will be very uniform. Different plants sharing a screen usually brings problems and as your plants look like they are filling the area out already and you have lots of height so I the screen isn't worth it in my opinion.

If you did go with the screen anyway then you want to allow the underside to fill out and become thick with growing tips. Then switch to 12/12 and let all the shoots  come up through. Some people carry on keeping the tips under the screen for a further week in to flower but with 2m of height you won't necessarily need to.

I clear out under the screen at about 3 weeks in to flowering when the canopy above the screen has thickened out enough to support the plant

  6. Thanks for your reply buddy, if I was to go with the net although It would be a ball ache could i increase the yield using it?
I can access three sides of my tent so watering isn't an issue my main concern is cleaning under the net.

My plants are all very similar in height and looks other than one she is much shorter than the others, maybe I should remove this?

I'm in two minds wether to remove the net or not because I've had my mind set on it, but now you've advised me I'm thinking otherwise 😐

if it's easy enough to water and considering the screen is already in place, and that all the plants are the same strain, And that your mind has been set on it, you may as well go for the ScrOG.

it probably will add some yield due to the ability to veg longer. Clearing out under the screen is a total nightmare no matter how many plants you have lol

There's no real need to remove a short plant because the screen will keep them all the same height anyway. It's when you switch to 12/12 and let all the growing shoots come up through that you will see the difference in the different plants. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do at that point other than bending over and tying the tallest branches

Its only a 4'x4' tent isn't it? With access to 3 sides, I don't see what the problem is. The most you'll have to reach in at any spot is 2' under the net. Unless you have a physical disability or little tiny disproportioned 12" arms, you should be able to reach that with no problem. I know I can and do. I'm just an old out of shape average size guy and wouldn't have a problem maneuvering under there. If you want to scrog then scrog. If you dont , then don't . Its whatever you want to try. Its pretty easy to do.

  9. 9 plants will fill out a 4x4 in no time flat. Screen is overkill, unnecessary work imo.

  10. Hey guys have the cultivation forums been removed I can't seen to find it via the app

  11. Still here bro

  12. Where can I find it?

Seems to of vanished for me

  14.
Probably medical marijuana. I don't use the app though. I prefer using Google chrome for mobile. The app is very restrictive

  15. Today I've removed the screen! 9 plant scrog certainly isn't the way to go. Even with the access to each end of the tent accessing plants still proved a tricky task!

I'm unsure when to start flowering in into the fift week of veg

Here wanna the babies out of the tent

Looks Great! Maybe I can give you a little advice...I used to grow for a dispensary and have about 5k plants under my belt...

When you grow a lot of plants in a small area, light tends to not make it down to the lower branches of your plant, which will cause tiny little popcorn buds that aren't even worth it...to prevent this I would cut the bottom few branches because in the end you will get a higher yield....by cutting the bottom branches you give more energy to the buds that are higher up...

Also, I always pick off the fan leaves on the main stem...I leave the top 2-3 pairs of fan leaves on the main stem, but any lower than that will just be blocking the light to the lower buds...pluck the fan leaves on the MAIN STEM and you will get more weight on your lower buds...don't pluck leaves that aren't on the main stem....

Also, do you top your plants? I would always top my plants when growing in SCROG so you get 4+ main(top) buds per plant...If you top your plants try to leave a week before you put them into flower to prevent them from turning hermaphrodite and seeding themselves...It looks like you already have topped the plants tho....Don't be afraid to top your plants several times if one stem is getting way longer than the rest(before flower...never top once you start flowering...)It is always best to try to keep your tops all around the same height when growing in SCROG to help the light stay even to every part of the plant(so one cola doesn't steal all of the light and block the rest of the plant....

All in all, those plants look great...look like they could use a bit of water in the last pic bc there not perked up...maybe they were just out of the lights a bit too long...

I would recommend switching to flower SOON because they are going to get pretty big over 8-10 weeks of flower and fill up your tent...if you got any questions hit me up. I haven't been on here in years but I got that growing itch and had to check out some buds...Good luck and stay safe!!!

  17. Hi mate thanks for the reply
I've taken the scrog net off now I simply didn't have the room to work with all nine.
Can I take the leaves off the main stems now?
Would topping the again be a wise thing to do given the spce I have
I'll post another pic of some of them in the tent and some better pics later when I'm home from work

Don't remove any leaves man, it's those that collect the light, you don't want any bud blocking them and certainly don't want to remove them. Bud doesn't collect light, bud is the reproductive system, it's the leaves that collect the light and the large leaves do much of the work. The plant also "breathes" through the leaves so don't cut any off unless they are dead.

Once you are in flower then removing some of the lower branches can be worth doing so you don't have to deal with loads of scraggly buds on harvest day. Or you can make hash with them like I do. I'm my experience removing the lower buds does lower the overall yield, but it won't harm the big main colas at the top

I would probably flower now. They will likely at least double in height by harvest time. it looks like they have almost filled out the area already
