GeoCaching Official Adventure Thread

Discussion in 'The Great Outdoors' started by TheSingularity, Apr 6, 2015.

  1. You have arrived! Prepare for a real world treasure hunting adventure!

Post pictures of your finds and journeys.

    Discuss techniques and tips.

I have geocached twice and I loved it. I adore being in nature and having an objective to find "treasure" is interesting.

I attempted it in the snow, but to no avail. Now that it's spring time I will be out caching!

  2. I hate these assholes.

I've seen this on one of my hiking trails. They leave an absolute mess and tear up everything.

    Fuck geocaching.

  3. Wow. Sorry you had an unfortunate experience. Maybe you should smoke a blunt and reevaluate your use of general statements.

  4. Um yeah I smoked a bowl. My opinions remain the same.

    Fuck you geocachers.

Do them in a shopping mall or walmart, or dirty alleys. It's already trashed and torn apart.
Leave the wilderness alone, so many dipshits show up in hopes of finding something and end up trashing the place.
    Stupid fuckers.

  5. Chill Brah.

  6. Haha, I'm done now
Said what I had to say.

Let's just say it pisses me off when I see a large group of teenagers running a mock like idiots breaking logs, smashing stuff, and leaving beer cans and soda bottles in search of whatever they're looking for.

  7. Not all geocachers are assholes. And not all "hikers" are nice, considerate people.

There's shitty people in all walks of life. But I'd say that the majority of geocachers are nature lovers and not "teenagers running a mock [sic] like idiots".

I understand where your frustration stems from, but you have to understand that your negative experiences do not encompass the actions of an entire community.

  8. Lets just clarify the simple concept that if you dont like something you surely dont need to enter a thread on the topic and then post hate towards members of the community  who might participate in such an act

We will just let this be the warning

I went one time almost 2 years ago and i found one on a horse trail behind my neighborhood near a canal under a rock. I found a camouflage plastic container with a logbook and some random materials inside. I took these stamps underneath and left a blue pen. I also tried looking for a few more, like for hours but to no avail. I remember i had walked probably 5 miles from my house just to find a specific one and never did. I however did find a buddhist temple that i never knew existed.

i actually found like 2 more with only logbooks inside them. They were hanging from a tree inside a little metal capsule. geocaching is trippy as hell. I think i might pick it back up.
