Placing seed or transplant on the side of the pot.

  1. Has anyone tried or know if having the plant growing from the side rather than middle has an effect on root development.

    ( • ) normal
    ( • ) what I'm asking

Reason being lst pulling top down to just above soil and pulling down side branches as well ( bonsai) I have one side of the pot denser with growth than the other side

  2. It's what I do for all my LST plantings, and is especially useful when running no-tills...

Roots will grow to where there's room for them to grow.

  3. I figured they would just find a path over to the other side once they found the closer wall.

Risk of having them get compacted and root bound on the one side?

  4.
Never been an issue for me personally.  Been growing LST's for about two years now, but I do grow in SmartPots.  Still doubt very seriously that it would be an issue, even in plastic pots.

  5. That's what I was hoping to hear, thanks.

  6. Plants planted in the center of the pots get much better root branching and quicker root development than plants planted on the sides of the pots.
