Manure Tea?

  1. The local general store has some should I use this in lieu of compost teas? Also the lady down the street is selling chicken manure is it good to use with cannabis? I totally new to all things organic.

  2. Hi mr216

short answer is no you dont really need teas.
I am also new to organics, what gave me a good picture on how to go about growing organics was reading the no-till and the easy organic soil mix for beginners sticky threads here in the organics section. most of your questions should be answered in the first 20 pages or so of those threads.

    good luck!

  3. Perfect for your compost heap...

Chicken manure can make a great soil additive or a tea, PROVIDING ITS BROKEN DOWN and NOT fresh. Fresh will kill, aged/composted will work great.

Scooby is right though about teas. If you're new to organic gardening you should really concentrate on building a good soil and not even worry about teas for now. The old adage "feed the soil and not the plant" is what you need to remember in organics.

Short answer - yes the chicken manure, properly aged and composted will make a nice nutrient tea in small doses.
