butter help

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by kush21, Apr 1, 2015.

  1. simple question for a simple answer.

how many grams of butter per gram of bud?

    thank you.

  2. Too many factors and variations.  Are you using stems, abv, good bud, bad bud, trim, hash?

Dummy proof guide: Melt butter down, submerge desired amount of ground herb.   Can't submerge bud then there is to much.

  3. You should use as much butter as you need for the recipe. So, if you are making a brownie recipe that needs 1/2 cup of butter, use 1/2 cup. Some people add a little bit extra on the logic that some will be lost when you strain and discard the herb.

If you are not making a recipe that requires a specific amount of butter, then use as much or as little as you want, provided it covers the amount of herb you are using. The more butter you use per gram of herb, the less concentrated each serving will be. The less butter you use, the more concentrated each serving will be.

Hopefully you have noticed there are "sticky" threads at the top of this forum, including a very very very popular "how to make cannabutter" tutorial. ;)

  4. if the butter is not enough to cover and submerge the cannabis you can add small amounts of water (I use 1 cup) and after you strain the cannabis out put in the fridge until butter hardens, drain the water and use the butter.  I prefer to not use water.  I use an ounce of weed for one cup of butter.
