So a buddy of mine taught me a Keif collecting trick the other day and I was wondering if anyone else had heard of or have tried this. Basically you just plop a nickel on top of some of your pre ground bud, close your grinder, and then shake the grinder around for about a minute. You wouldn't believe how much more Keif ends up in the pollen catcher. I ground up a full 1/4 and only had a dusting of Keif. That's not keif ..just fine plant matter ..don't shake to much or you get plant matter not keif but yeah it works as long as you don't shake alot I do prefer the nickel rather than a quarter like most people use because nickels don't have a perforated edge for all the real keif to stick Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I do that but it isn't truly kief. As other blades have mentioned it is just super fine weed but in my case that is what I am going for. A nice bong snap of some powdered bud gets me nice and toasted every time so I see no reason to stop. Just understand that the only way to collect actual kief is to have some patience and a good screen in your grinder.
ya it's an ok trick works well enough you can also put your grinder in the freezer with some weed for a bit then grind it up and smack it on somthing you will get alot of kief that way but meh then you buds all shitty
Someone should invent some type of soap that cleans and kills germs. Nickels help collect that kief. Just clean the coin lol.

Dirty coin, clean coin based on some people here it's only a preference that the clean coin is the best one to use.
I use a dime and I dont shake my grinder. I still get more kief than usual but it prevents fine plant matter from going through my screen rather than kief. I find my kannastor collects kief very very well with just adding the dime
The problem with that is not only that it adds finely ground plant matter to your kief, but it also will gum up your screen in your grinder pretty quickly
I almost always use a dime in the grinder. If I forget oh well though lol. Although I must say when I sort through my shake and get all the bud out I run the leaves through the grinder with a dime and shake that up and tap it on my hand and always end up with tons of kief. And hey even if its finely ground plant matter then oh well cuz it still scoops and smokes like kief and sure as hell gets you highhhh lol. As for gumming up the screen as someone says it will faster I've personally not had that problem it gums up maybe a week sooner than it used to when I didn't use a dime so no big annoyance there. It all just comes down to preference. Kinda like the clean vs dirty coin is a matter of preference. I've had the same dime in my grinder for awhile lol

I tried it once to see what people were talking about and yeah, it just adds a lot of plant matter to it. Not worth it IMO. Not only do you strip your good bud of trichomes, you also contaminate the catcher with tiny bud. At the end of the day you get crappy bud and contaminated keif.
Jesus, I still don't get why people go to these lengths to rob Peter to pay Paul. It'd be like me extracting alcohol out of my beer to drink later but then drinking light beer now. I just don't get it.
