Usually just under a pound from a 600w HPS, ScrOG, DWC, in a 4'x3' tent with a few oz of good trim and small buds for making hash
Lol thanks guys. I've been growing for about 20 years. The first 5 I didn't really know what I was doing, just growing outdoors. The reason my roots are so white is because the nutrients I use have very little colour to them. Ionic grow and ionic bloom, they work really well. Another reason is general health and I put this down to lots of air, and the nutrient solution being kept in balance with what is in the plant at any given time. Having a good camera with a decent flash also helps lol Vegging can be quite a long time do to the size the plant needs to be. A lot of growth going on under that screen. I have 2 tents so I can have one vegging in one tent while in the other flowers in the other tent. So a couple of months vegging sometimes. I have a blue cheese ScrOG running now and has been vegging for about 4 weeks I think. Ill be switching to flower within a few days
Thank you...just put alot of money into it and just seeing what people think....im growing sharks breath under 4 1000watt dwc
Hydro top feed and return excess to res Multiple strains. Right now it's white widow, purple kush and Girl Scout cookies but I'm about to try violator kush next I run two main rooms with four 1000 watt lights in each. I clone and early veg in a third room. I have the two main rooms offset by a month in bud and average between four and five pounds per crop which is roughly every month
In my last flowering setup using HPS lights, I was getting about 14-15 oz with 600w and 17-18 oz with the 1k.
That's really interesting about the difference in yield between the 600w and the 1000w. This sort of difference seems to be fairly typical. I have never used a 1000w, I prefer 600w due to heat, but from what I read the 1000w even though it's not far off double the watts, doesn't seem to add a significant weight on top compared to a 600w. Do you have any idea what causes this? It seems pretty common
It seems that the 600w is the most efficient HPS lamp (until you get into the 1500w commercial lamps). Supposedly (and it seems to hold true), the 600w puts out more lumens per watt, but specifically, more PAR per watt than the 1k, and way more than the 400w. I've also used 400w HPS lamps, and the difference between a 400 and a 600 (In my experience) is much greater than the difference between a 600 and a 1k. I would say 2 600's side by side would blow away a single 1k (at only 200 watts more). In the one picture I posted of the 1k table (the last picture), you can see the leaves got heat stressed in the center of the canopy directly below the lamp, and that was in a vented hood with insufficient exhaust power. The first 2 pictures are the right and left sides of the same canopy under a 600.
Also interested. I'm looking to yield 2.5 - 3lbs per harvest and would like a good idea of how many plants and watts that requires in a DWC grow.
