Half of the pieces on DHGate are quality and are solid. Just because they are cheap and come direct instead of coming from a headshop with a 250% markup doesn't make them low quality. And I more meant to get a piece to tide him over until he figures out what he wants, or can save some money for a really nice worked brand name piece.
You can get basic HVY or Zob tubes for around that. They're basic but US boro, they'll be solid and dependable. You can buy a diffused downstem later if you want more diffusion or add a perc'd ash catcher.

Actually that slipped my mind, +1 to the idea of finding some localy blown glass, you can usually get really good locally blown pieces for semi-cheap. Also I know that there is lots of good glass you can get for 120, I was just thinking that when op meant "high quality" he meant something american blown or brand name

No they are low quality Straight from china sweat shops off a manufacturing line made by a 12 yr old and the glass isn't even annealed so how can it be "quality". That's whats wrong with dh gate glass

Just like your t-shirts and shoes. How can you generalize and say 100% of them aren't annealed? He's looking for a bong for a cheap price. I am not saying they are the same quality and creativity of high end pieces. He is looking for a cheap quality piece. Have you ever bought one off of DHGate? I know quite a few people that have and they are quality. Sure there are some that are fucked but again how can you generalize anything like that. Especially when you haven't even seen any of the pieces first hand
What does it matter if they are made in China? Every piece of electronics you have is made in China. I don't get your guys' problem with buying things straight from the wholesaler. So it's so much better to buy it from a head shop at 3x the price? Because you know that's where most of them buy their shit right? From sites exactly like DHG.
My $100 china glass sure serves me well. It hasn't broken on me and functions the same as the day I bought it. Seems of fair quality to me. Not sure what all of this "quality" is that people are talking about.
