SOG , how soon to bloom.

  1. I was thinking of doing a sog. I was wondering, how soon to put in bloom? I read somewhere you can cut a clone off the mother, put a little root powder on it and put it in a gallon pot and leave it in the bl9om. And you'll get .25 to .5 an oz?
Anyone any experience with this? These numbers right?
I was wanting to test but don't want to waist clones and 9nly get a gram or two off it.

Two weeks is minimum time to root, established clones take another two weeks and by then you're ready to flower which takes 2-3 weeks for switch and then you're on your flower time which is 6-11 weeks depending on strain and your preference for high. If you want to destroy your yield, you skip the establishing period and only let them root, you greatly sacrifice your outcome due to lack of root development. You'd basically be better off starting a SOG through seeds you made with a stable female and male. Stable females are ones that can last a generation without going intersex/hermie. Good luck! You'll yield on a ton of plants but I recommend a veg period especially for clones. They barely have roots especially if you don't do them right. Believe me when I say if you want yield you need size. Bigger containers and more vegetative growth. I've calculated my yields (wanted to be a math major) and can predict yields of up to 20 lbs in 400 gallon containers.

  3. Intresting. Well, since I've posted this, I've experimented a little and like the results so far. Will see how it turns out.

for a SOG you want well rooted clones planted 4 per sq ft that are flipped two weeks after transplant. if you flip them too soon, they will stunt and not stretch like you want sometimes. some people do it in one gallons but the beds are said to have the best results with yields of 1-2 oz per sq ft depending on strain selection which is key to having the results you want. SOG can yield quite well very quickly but it's the plant count that gets ya.

what type of things have you experimented with?
