  1. Does anyone wotk in I.T? I just landed a help desk position with a net+ cert and currently studying for my ccna

  2. A+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA.

i worked I.T. for a long time. over 20 years. i was teaching microsoft certs and A+ certs for a while which was incredible. it is an excellent career and i would not give any of it up. there is BS like there is in any field but i had an amazing time. i am one nerdy individual and have been into electronics of all kinds since i was a wee one. i always was and still am "the computer guy" to my friends and family. i mention that because side work made up a substantial paycheck every week. i like being able to make all kinds of gadgetry work and being an I.T. Pro is really all about making things work. so the more nerdy you are the farther you will go. being in the I.T. business keeps you up to date on everything that goes down. kind of a self perpetuating career. you never know where it will take you. [IMG]

so keep it up. college is another great tool at your disposal. i started with certs and as i started making more and more money i was able to land a job that paid for my school and certs. we had a certain amount of training we had to complete every year. not to mention specialty stuff that would come along. that is the ting with I.T., you can never stop learning. you can never stop updating your certs. I.T. is time consuming at times but when you finally find your niche you will be golden. so yeah man go for it. i loved it. [IMG]

  3. I was actually thinking a lot about getting into IT.  What certifications would I need for an entry level position?  And where can I get them?

  4. Nice name BTW. But technically you do not need any certs to get a help desk / desktop support position. But if you would like to get started look at the entry level comptia certs or the ccent/ccna from cisco.
