Is the pax worth the money?

  1. Hi I'm new here. I usually use a bong or pipe but I'm thinking about buying a vape. Main reason is for stealth . Can anyone tell me how much the oven can hold? Also best temp. For using it. Does it smell when using ? Thx

  2. oven can hold between 1/2 gram to gram or so

    best temp is medium

there is a strong skunk'ish smell that emits from it

    I liked mine...

note: there is a lot of maintenance/cleaning involved

  3. According to some of the reviews over at FC, the new Pax 2 solves a lot of the issues that were present in the original Pax.

  4. except for all that conduction ;)

  5. Dry herb vapes aren't even relevant anymore, I've got plenty sitting around collecting dust that wont give me near the hit I get from an oil rig or pen.

Yup.    That's pretty much inherent in the design.    I prefer convection based vapes myself, unless the conduction is "heat-on-demand" like the MFLB or the FlashVape.   Those I can live with.

  8. I purchased a pax about a month ago and ended up selling it to get a convection style vaporizer. In regards to whether it is worth the money im not sure id agree. Cleaning is inevetable with the pax but i didnt find it too time consuming or hard. I wasnt a fan of the conduction aspect. I am new in the world of vaporizers but I would look towards a convection style. It worked decent but the hits were not consistent and i find that the oven requires stirring to keep an even vape of the product, which is difficult to do on the go. Just my two cents though.

    It's just a plant

  9. Should I start out with a different vape. I'm really look by for something stealthy. Any suggestion ?

If stealth is your main point of purchase, as a pax owner i can say it is great for that in my experience.

From a form factor point of view I agree.    From a smell factor point of view, I disagree.

  12. I switched from a bong to a Pax and it's awesome.

My recommendation is to start smoking on the lowest setting, when you aren't getting any more vapor - bump up to the next setting and do this until the pack is done. This method is smoother and I find that it conserves a lot of weed.

It holds a good amount but make sure to finely grind it and pack it tight. Also clean it because res buildup will make it less efficient.

  13. how are you smoking and vaping at the same time

  14. I meant vaping sorry lol.

I say smoking out of habit

  15. There are lots of better vapes out there that cost a fair bit less. The Pax looks great, but if you're even slightly serious about getting a really good vape I'd look elsewhere. Lots of threads on here to give you some guidance.

  16. I just got an Arizer Air for about $170, and I love it. I picked the Air over the PAX, and a few others.
