I'm a beginner trying my hand at my first grow. I want to grow in soil naturally abd just see how it does.Someone gave me a seedling thats 2/3wks old. It had aphids when i got it but haven't seen any in about a week. The plant seems to be drooping any ideas of why? I'll post some flicks, if someone could shoot me a Pm that'd be much appreciated man. Peace.
@drosell420 Thank you Ive been trying to read up but then i start freaking out thinking its a million other things.
Looks like backyard dirt. Which is fine when it's in the ground and has worms/insects crawling through it providing aeration, microbes, and nutrients. Once you confine it to a pot it loses those benefits, that's why we add things like perlite, wormcastings, and nutrients to our container plants. Could be high-quality compost, could be just a topping, but it looks like plain dirt to me.
Looks ok to me but you might wanna look into some perlite( or other aeration)for when you re-pot it. ur youngling might be being smothered by that dirt being too compact. Also noticing the stretching on it not sure if u have it outside in a pot or not but if your indoor u might wanna move the lights down.
Its outdoor i live with my grandparents so i cant grow indoor thats why i wanted to just let it grow naturally cause i cant afford equipment and stuff and its my first grow i wanna learn the basics. and yes it's backyard dirt with a little bit of eggshells crushed up into dust sprinkled in the dirt. I've broken up the first inch or two of dirt and let it compact just when i water the dirts soft all the way thru i dont think its too compact? I will look into perlite and wormcastings though thanks and i haven't watered should i wait till it perks up again?
